Steve, I'm new to this board & appreciate the fact that it's here. Does the new rule mean I can't include a link as a reference to what I'm posting?
Example: we are talking abuot how much fun dirt racing is & I say something like "check my photo page out" which has a total of 16 pics of R/C cars & nothing else.
Is that OK or no links at all?
Thanks, Mark

Mark - you can link to those images here without referring to another site. This is one of those grey areas, but I would prefer if you just used the IMG tag to show the image here. Thanks.

Yes, that's a good example - I wouldn't have a problem with that. Nobody's going to get booted for it or anything, I'm just going to have to delete threads that are promoting other websites. We spent a lot of time and money getting this website and board up here, and some are just taking advantage of our good will and using it to promote thier own or other websites. It kinda like walking into Walmart with a big sign promoting K-Mart.

Steve wouldn't it be wise also to stop people from doing that on the chat room too? It always mostly me but you think its a good idea? Since the chat ain't free either.
Anyways I'm gonna try walking in to Walmart with a K-Mart Sign on my head!!lol That would be funny!

I've left most of the options open in this BB so everyone will be able to use it as a resource to exchange information between enthusiasts. It appears that far too many of the visitors to this site are using it as a springboard to pump their own websites. Posts containing "visit my website" links or announcements will no longer be allowed. You will still be able to post links to help others find the information they're seeking, but URLs in signatures and links to other sites will no longer be allowed.

I agree with you 100%. It seemed like very many questions asked were answered by telling the person to go to another site. In order for this site to grow and be the best the questions need to be answered here if at all possible. That way a person later can try a search to find a related topic and get info on it. No need to go elsewhere. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Mark - click on the edit message icon along the top of edge of you post to see the changes I made to make this an image tag instead of a link.
