Hey Dave,

I'm not a huge poster in this forum, I do stay busy in 'the other' forum though. This site is the one that got me started, however, and you have become somewhat of an idol to me. I always keep an eye out for your threads and occasionally browse your old threads simply cause your work inspires me. And I know anyone on the forum would agree...its always something of a treat to view your lasted creation. Builders, myself included, all have our "dark times" when we dont have that motivation to build or fly, but you seem to cure that everytime..lol.

But back to my thread, It's been about a month and a half since your last project and im wondering what you've been up to! It's winter time and that means build time, so Im assuming youve been working on your next masterpiece :p and cant wait to see it! Unless im wrong and you've been busy lately :o .

If you DO have something, maybe a new thread for it would be a good idea...instead of hiding it inside my no-purpose thread here :)

Just a few months ago I sold off all my plane equipment to pay for other things  and just recently bought everything I needed again, this time trying all the 'new' generation stuff, lipos, all brushless ect...To try some outdoor 3D, but after looking over both micro forums, Im thinking about selling it all to get a micro set-up again! lol I just love this hobby!

well, im done now. Cant wait to hear from ya Dave!

Hi Brandon,
Actually, this has been a rotten season for health issues. A few months after having bypass surgery in June, I began having chest pains again. After numerous tests, it was decided that I had a blood clot on my left lung. Shortly before surgery in November, the surgeon decided to order a cancer specific test just to play it safe. Welll, the test came back negative for the original problem, but claimed I had a cancer in my other lung! This was opened up on Nov 17, and as it turned out, there was no cancer at all. Meanwhile, I am recovering and getting myself together to get back to the shop and make a few more contributions.
There are still a couple of unpublished projects waiting for MAN and Backyard Flyer, along with the Butterfly design for MicroFlight. Thanks for asking, I did not mean to bore you with hospital tales.
Regards, Dave

Dave,

Sorry to hear you had an accident and ran into a doctor! A false/positive is better than the alternative!

Check out the second attempt Scot made on your SRE. Breath-taking!

Hi Mike,
Scott sent me some pictures directly. He is one awesome fellow to do that well on a micro model and keep the weight in bounds. My suggestion was that perhaps the model should be impounded and put on display before something awful happens. At any rate, it certainly is an inspiring piece of work. Also, having met and spent time with Scott, he is one mighty nice person, and a pleasure to share a flying session with.
Regards, Dave

Hi Dave,

It is sad to hear about your health problems, I hope all is well now and you recover soon. We are always waiting for new models with your magic touch :)

This is off topic, but I got inspired by your new Pronto Supreme in MAN also.. Maybe I should build one, I have not built a gas model for years.. Do you think a Schneuerle 0.20 should be enough power for that model (Webra Speed 20 - a bit old but unused)?

Best regards,

Bulent

Hello Bulent,
Thank you for the kind words. At this point, I have gotten a good report from my surgeon, and it is now a matter of time and exercise for complete healing.
The Webra .20 would indeed be plenty of engine for a Pronto Supreme, my .25 is a plain bearing, non-schnuerle engine, and it is more than ample. You will find the throttle a very useful control.
Take care, Dave
