Has anyone tried these soldering irons(cold/heat) yet?

Okay I don't know much about soldering and currently use a butane iron and an electric one. Has anyone used one of these before and would they be good for R/C application or for soldering batteries they get real hot? Here is the link:

They probably don't hold their heat well enough to work sufficiently with the low-gauge wire used in RC applications. I don't know for sure, though, as I have never tried them. Someone should know.

Thanks Gizmo, tec, I found it! A bit mixed on it maybe someone else has actually used this. Looking to use it for wiring my esc to motor and possibly battery building. Thanks Gene

a guy i run with had one... the tips explode... they cant handle the hot-cold drop to often and eventually blow... thankfully he had sat it in his box...

Yes, tips cant handle r/c applications. These irons cant seem to generate enough heat to solder 18-22 Ga wire. I would not try one unless you intend to use it on something other than r/c

your best bet is a good Wattage Soldering iron and some deans Pro Flux Solder - that stuff melts like butter.
