Well Im getting one for XMAS hopefully

My plans are for a 6cell 3000mAh pack and mamba (sp?) brushless setup

With XMAS money Im getting new wheels for my real truck (or maybe a toolbox and CB) and some stufff for my NMT (OS .18 TZ TX and H/D parts mainly)

Ive been outta RC for a while but got the bug again...WOOHOO!

ExtremeMT 3000MAh if your talking a regular stick pack in the rc18t I think you might be a little confused. It takes smaller packs. GP1100Mah is a good pack for it.

God that thing is tiny!

to give you a better idea of the size thats just a reg size ST tire on the back. But dont let the size full you its a ton of fun.

Poo....lol

Im still a lil new to Eletric now..forgve me. Ask me anything nitro though and I can tell you.

So they dont make 3000mah in smaller size?

No a GP1100 is about the best your going to find, Anyway for the smaller 280 motor thats still pretty good runtime.

The only way you will get more run time is with Lithium Polymer packs. I have a Thunderpower 1900Mah 7.4V li-poly pack and i can run for a good hour of hard running in my race mini-t.

I picked up my rc18 today..FAST..FAST..FAST..is all I have to say.Way faster than a stock Mini-T and handles like you wouldn't believe (espeacialy for a stocker)I LOVE the 4WD.I know some people were having glitch promblems but I didn't have any.The electronics seem pretty good so far.I can't wait for the races to start in the spring.
My only complaint is that the stub axles seem a little chincy, I'm sure there will be upgrades pretty soon.So far this thing definitly seems worth the $164 bux I spent, I'm definitly getting a Mamba brushless though, and some new tires.
For now I have a great little house/backyard basher.
Hope you all enjoy yours.

Jon Boy: I run regular 3300 packs in my mini-t and I have not problem only fun. All you need is a nice looking body to keep things from looking hack!!

well, the reg stick pack is heavy compared to the stock pack I would think that jumping and hitting thing it might break easyer.

True, but while driving I try not to run into things!:)

David, if you need more help with electric hit me up on AIM bro. We haven't talked in a long time anyways!:p

Resp- looks like that stick pack fits PERFECTLY :D Maybe you should try running a 4s lipo pack in there on a low Kv mamba.. That'd probably give you oodles of torque.:D

Hi Resp

Does running the batt that high in the chassis upset the cog???make it easy to tip off road??

cheers

No. The I set the chassis as low as it will go and the weight helps bring it down a little also, but when the battery starts to run low you definetly feel it. I haven't had any issues other than doing jumps that give it an altitude great than one feet high.

Yes..that is true..but it will be fast :D , with a slipper clutch, and some good throttle finger control you should only have to replace drive train parts every two battery packs ;) j/k, the 18t's diffs and drive shaft seem pretty tough, the only thing I'm really concerned about is the spur, but they'll be cheap enough anyway. I have my mamba x on the way, I'll let you know how it holds up. and I'll post some vids of the mamba shredding my 18 to bits :D
(thats if my lipo pack dosen't burst into flames first) :(

I am getting a couple of these as gifts for people this Christmas. How long does it take to charge these guys? 10 hours every time? omg

Also, I have a NiMh Duratraxx peak detection, adjustable charger. Will I need to buy charger adapters to plug into this battery? Tamiya plugs?

Thanks,

Craig

Hiya craig, I use a super brain 959 peak charger. I decided I wouldn't ever need the 10 hour charger and clipped the end off, then stripped the wires and hooked it up to the 959. Now I can charge at 1 amp and be rtr in usually 40 minutes or so. If I really run the battery down it can take an hour, but still thats a 10X improvement.

just a thought. I was getting ready to cut the connector off my wall charger but decieded it would still be nice to have to take on trips and stuff. 1/2 the reason i got mine is that its small and easy to carry other places just dont want to have to take the normal peak charger around with it.

I know my pic has a second battery pack in it. I was just demonstrating that you can fit a 3000+ 6 cell pack in there. When i'm out running and jumping I MUST use the small 1100 pack. When I want to do wheelies and get carzy speed and torque I reach for the 3300.

Losi makes a Tamiya Plug adapter for chargers....that you can use with the Mini T's batteries, which uses the same connectors as the 18T. I got one for mine.
