I don't. Why make an underground sport mainstream ? I was in a go-ped forum a few weeks ago and the same question came up. Should go-ped races be shown on t.v ? Most of us said no because if it's shown on t.v everyone will want to get one and you'll just be another face in the crowd. Well thats the way I look at it.

yea i guess your some what right about that.
if you get to many people into it than it kinda takes the fun out of the hobby, how many people can say they have a little rc car that will go 40 mph. i see your point but it would still be neat to see our hobby on t.v.

i agree 100% thats happening w/ car audio right now, and street racing, after the fast and the furiouse came out, ever punk with a civic and a spoiler, thinks he is a racer.

your right, i have an $800. "Giant" mountain bike and now all these cheap mountain bikes are comeing out in stores like huffy etc.
and that kinda made me really mad. they must of had to much mountaining biking on t.v.
i guess if i want to see rc car racing than i'll just video tape my self or better yet , go to a race.

racingmason005, I have already tried this. It is not going to work. I got alot of people to help me but it was no good. If you want to get the idea to espn, you need a lot of people, a hell of a lot of people.

It's all about fun guys. How would putting racing on TV make it any less 'fun'? I am into mountain biking too but everyone on my block has a cheap-o bike. Doesn't mean I don't think my $800 bike wasn't a good investment. Do you think skateboarders resent any kid skating and having X games on TV? I don't think so. RC will be an underground (and therefore expensive) sport for a while to come and i don't see anything changing that.

i think it would be nice to have an R/C channel or something, and that would be good and bad for R/C. good because there would be alot more hobby shops out there and new companies coming out and new R/C's. i think it would be more good than bad. the bad thing about it is that everyone would want one and crowded race days! lol.

Here in the north I have seen to many shops close because we had no one showing up on race day! Not saying that TV would help but, some sort of advertizing would have help! The hobbie shops sould do more is this area,
the only you hear about the hobbie is word of mouth! Like me, I found out after my stepson got a traxxas for Xmas and I started looking for some where to run the truck at besides the back yard! That was 12 yrs ago! I have seen the close of all my local shops, so now I drive 100 miles to race! That is not to bad, but it was only a 5 min ride! In my opion YES it would help!

Just last night,I came across RC TV. I was shocked. It was on PBS. They have a web site, www.rctv1.com. (http://www.rctv1.com.) It will tell you times and channels. It was well produced, but covered all areas of RC,which is ok if you like boats and planes.Cars are all I can handle for now!!
Enjoy it while you can, they occasionally take RCTV off the air (in our area anyway) and replace it with something else. I saw it on TV last year or maybe the year before and then, like 10 weeks later it was nowhere to be found. It is a good show with a lot of car tips (from the ones i've seen).
