This is a huge r/c hovercraft I built from a kit. It is all metal with foam flotation that I had to carve myself. It is BIG. I put a Fox .78 engine in it. It used to be a blast to run. It also has been in the garage for a long, long time. Did I mention it's BIG? ;)

Oh, I see how it works. There is a prop, almost standing up, that forces air under the skirt.
Is there a way to differentiate between lift and forward thrust ? I mean is there any way to truly "hover" ?
This would be a blast to mess around with. Fire it up and go anywhere, sea or land.

Cool toy.

Are you going to restore it? How fast is it?

jeepinator: nope, as soon as you throttle down, it settles down on the skids.....heck of a braking system! :) It's weird to drive, it goes really fast, and when you give full rudder, it just pivots sideways but keeps going in the same direction! It has to eventually get "pushed" by the prop thrust to change directions. It was a blast to do big 'slides' around the local baseball diamond.

r_c_man: it doesn't need restoration, it only needs a bath! It's still mint! And yes, it was FAST! :D

OP, that is the sweetest thing i have seen in a loooong time! How old is that thing? I bet it hauls Boot-ay! So, it goes on water? That would be sweet, and a baseball diamond?

Off the topic, where did you get that Trans Am? My brother is crazy with those things, and that is the coolest model i have seen, i will show him it when he gets home from work

FYI: he turned his '82 T-Topped T/A into a Knight Rider, he has pics on our PC, we could e-mail you some (i think) if you'd like.

xxxer: I think I bought it around 1990 and built it then. Maybe late 80's.

That TA is an old Nikko model. I got it off eBay. Your bro has a 3rd gen Firebird? Cool! I am Mr. 3rd gen! Check out my car club: www.sc3gfb.org (http://www.sc3gfb.org)

Yes, he is part of the Utah F-Body association, he is also in the process of repainting his '80 Formula(that is right, the really rare one, i think, with the, get this 301 TURBO V8!) One other wierd thing is it has that 'cowl'/'teardrop' hood, which i have never seen on a Second gen F-Body. It has all the goods, great interior, posi, all that good stuff
