It was an okay motor in it's day, but was not considered a legal stock motor. Some tracks had a special class for them called super stock where they were run with 7cells.

That was what we called a 6 minute motor back then. 240-4 minute, 480-8 minute. I have a couple of 360 st motors from that era. They're fixed timing 550 cans with the tabs, though. I have a bunch of old motors and motor parts for 80's and early 90's era motors. A lot of times the end bells will interchange. I have a 240 st lemans with a modern end bell on it. Do you have the old end bell you could post a pic of? If not, was it aluminum or plastic? Color?

If any one has one that might work let me know . thanks MIKE

This is a 480 s motor on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34063&item=5937279613&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW I think most endbells from a 540 size mod can would fit on there. I have a modern endbell on my old 240 lemans motor. The 240 endbell is on another can. Don't even remember why they're not together now. Try an endbell off of some other mod motor on there. see if it fits. If you need one pm me an address and I'll send you a couple.

There's one on both endbells. One has new brushes, the other has used. I left the bearings in for you. Wife promised she'll mail them for me tomorrow. Merry Christmas :D

This makes me feel old. lol I raced a t optima in 87-88. Still have it. That was a top line 4x4 back then. Now it's a tank. Got the belt in it, the chain sucked. I have some old pics around here somewhere if you want to see a couple.

and the track. There was a nice offroad track on the other side of the driver's stand. The stand was between the tracks. Anyway, this is on the banked oval. All this is gone now. It's a parking lot. :(

Just hadn't got the wing back on yet. It was between heats and had been cleaning the motor and changing the batt, etc.
The tracks were on city property and right next to the city pool. During the week when nobody was around to keep it watered down the dust would blow over into the pool. You can guess the rest. It lasted three years before the pool people got it removed.
