It actually depends on your driving style and track. The cadillac CTS-V will actually be miles apart from the alfa romeo. The angular front end of the caddy will create a more abrupt flow of air, and this tends to create more downforce. The alfa romeo on the other hand has a much smother flow of air from hood to windshield. This creates less downforce, and creates a more neutral feel. The mazda 6's body lines also create a smoother flow of air making it a good car for that neutral feel. (Plus it looks cool :D ) In the December issue of RCCA there is an article which touches on this as well. I think it may even be online. Its called "Win this Sunday! 6 tips for a winning weekend" There is a great picture which shows exactly what I'm talking about. I'll try scanning it later.

This is what you're looking for of "win this Sunday''':

2. Pick the right body

Using the correct body will make or break the way your car handles. Make sure that you do your homework to find out which body wins at the track. When you read our race reports, take note of the bodies the pros use. They always use the latest and best-handling bodies, so that information will be a good indicator of what can work for you, too. It’s also a good idea to note how a body is mounted. Sometimes, the pros slide the body forward a bit to gain more steering, even if that means the wheel wells will be out of alignment.

The most important things to look at when choosing a body for racing are the shape of the front end and the design of the windshield area. Bodies with a blunt front end will have more steering than bodies with a rounded or sloping front end. Another very important aspect to check is the transition from the hood to the windshield. The more gradual the slope, the more neutral the body’s handling will tend to be.
