AE says the front spindles are supposed to be universal right? Well the left ones seems to hit the hub carrier and cause it not to achieve full steering one way...can i trim a little bit of it off with my Dremel to fix this?

If both sides are turning until each hub hits the stop, then don't worry about the steering rack travel. This is the way the car is designed. There is an article on the Associated site that explains the reason for this.

That's right, it was set up that way to compensate for the inevitable torque steer inherent in the TC3's drivetrain, so its best to leave it be.... :)

yankee, its hard to tell what you mean, I'm assuming you know what ackerman is and don't need that explained and what you are talking about isn't that. if you are talking about the steering rack, make sure that the servo horn is mounted with a slight bias to the inside of the car. your manual can be more specific on this, but that allows the rack full travel in both directions. There are a lot of reasons why the wheels might turn more in one direction than another, is the connecting turnbuckle the correct length? was the servo centered before you mounted the horn on it? I may have just totally misread what you meant with this ;-) but I think I got it right. If I'm not even near the same ballpark as what you are talking about then disregard the post ;-)

The rack doesnt goes all the way to one side and the other leaves a little gap...i've tried to do the servo thing but it doesnt seem to help..Anyway the rack doesnt travel all the way to one side because the spindle is touching the hub carrier and stops it from traveling all the way.

okay, I see what you are saying, the stop on the hub carrier is hitting the block carrier in the rear. If thats the case then it is normal for it to do that and you shouldn't shave the stops down for more steering. like grizzbob said it is there to compensate for the torque steer so don't shave down the stops on the hub carriers. the steering rack does have a very small gap on both sides when turned stop to stop which is normal. An uneven margin of gap on the steering rack could mean that you didn't have it centered when you put on the tie rods, and then adjusted them with the steering rack slightly offset. so long as the servo turns the wheels stop to stop on the hub carrier, you are good to go.

They touch on both sides but when they touch on one side the rack doesnt travel all the way.

no worries there then, it would be even if the turnbuckles were exactly the same length, and the rack was precisely centered when the tierods were linked, and the servo horn would have to be precisely placed to get the steering rack gap to be the same stop to stop. you aren't inhibiting the steering in anyway so long as it goes stop to stop.. you have it built correctly I assure you.
