You either twisted to hard or the head on your driver isn't the right size. A Phillips screw can accept more than one size of a Phillips screwdriver, but only the right size will give you the best fit in the screws head so that it will be lest prone to stripping.

I was just assuming you had Phillips. Hope that helped.

Did the threads strip, or did the head strip ?
If the screw head is undamaged and your screw just spins with out binding up, you need to replace whatever the shock tower is connecting to, not the screw itself.
Hopefuly I am not stating the obvious for you, but I thought I would cover all the vases.
I recomend one of the many fine sets of allen drivers out there. My persnal fav are the ones made by MIP (used to be Thorp), They have full size handles and are incredibly durable.

Yes, you need to get some real nice ones, or else it is useless putting together a kit like that, i also like the MIP, mainly, any with a large handle will work great
Almost forgot, happy D-Day Carhead!

Happy B-Day car_head, when I built my spec buggy, I stripped the heads off of some too. It's really a good idea to get a real set of allen wrenches, I had ordered some, but only some had made it to me when I got the kit. I stripped some on my NXT and slotted them with my dremel tool. Can't do much else I suppose.

Dude, I feel your pain. IMHO all the button-head screws on my Losi cars are not worth putting in, except the two that go into metal threads, because they strip way too easily (even with my nice RE allen drivers). Do what I do, replace them with socket-head screws. They're tons easier to work with and won't strip. Put them in the front shock tower, on top of the tranny, and in the servo mounts if you feel like it. Life is good without button-head screws... :D
