i would not reccomend geocities to anyone. they took down 3 of my sites, withouth any warning or the like. i have read the terms of service and was in no violation of any said rules. anything run by yahoo.com i avoid
i would glady reccomend, however, homestead.com to anyone. they have a great site develepor, great tech support.. and they arnt jerks. they make it possible to make very clean proffesional sites with little skills. its pretty much drag and drop. and for those with html skill you can do that along with there site builder.

only downside to them i see as of yet is that you only get 15mb of space. plenty for text and pictures. when u have to upload videos thats when i ran into problems

well, if you know html yourself (heh basic html will get you static pages at least)... you can try many different services... don't go with the main ones like geocities, etc.. they are bad news... maybe try virtualave.... i tried them a long time ago for awhile and it worked great.... could use html and cgi only but good service...

i really don't know of many other ones, because i don't hafta worry about free hosting services anymore but i suggest running a search on "free web hosts" or something....

good luck

If you want the sweetest free hosting service on the planet, go to 50megs.com (http://www.50megs.com) . They can take care of you there. Do the research and I think you'll find it very suitable for your upcoming project. Good Luck! :)
