I wouldn't use a buggy engine in a Wild Thing. O. S. has some marine .15s that will work much better. Here's a link to one. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBY89&P=0
I know it doesn't have the 30,000+ RPM rating you probably are looking at, but having the water cooled head and side exhaust will make it an easier engine to set up, as airflow by the head isn't required and not needing a 180 degree header means less room required in front of the engine. That covers my 2 cents :)

I Have A Buddy That Lives Near By That Just Finished Building A wild Thing. He Brought It With Him The Last Time We Ran Together. I Would Not Put A .15 In It, I Would Put A .21, Which From What He Said Was Called For By The Plans. I Drove It About A Month Ago & It Made Me Want One. It Was Very Quick & Handled Very Nicely. He Had His Set With A Right Justified Rudder & Strut.
The Only Thing That I Noticed Was Water Flowing Over The Bow A Bit, This Is Fixed By Chine Rails. Other Than That It Was A Nice Runner.
HERE IS JUST WHAT YOU NEED FOR THAT WILD THING

Hey, I am going to get the plans shrinked down when i get them. I am going to go with the CEN .18 because of price and i hear it is a pretty good engine. Does anyone know where I can get a flywheel though?

I would just go with a CMB .21 Greenhead. LOL :D :p

What you asked here is a relative question. since I race most of my boats, I want a great motor to dump into it so I have to look at the $300.00 and up motors. The one that I bought I considered a good deal. I didn't pay close to what it normally goes for ($295.00 for a $425.00 mill). A good water-cooled .21 might be an OPS or OS for a low cost motor.
The CMB Greenhead is a great motor but some had a problem with the O-ring around the needle leaking. No big deal to fix.

I have the car version of the .21 greenhead and it is probably the fastest out there. I think the have the same internals, if that is true then you could change the rod out to the lighter Ti. Rod--More Speed.

Well Remember Guys Ejp Is A 14 Yo, That Lives In The Boonies In Colorado. He Is Not Racing & From What I Understand Dosen't Even Have Anyone Near To Run With. :( So For A 14 Yo To Spend That Kind Of Money On Those Engines Would Be A Waste For Him (most Likely His Parents) Getting A Reliable Engine @ A Good Price Would Be The Best Scenerio I Think.
Thats Why I Posted Regarding The Thunder Tiger. I Have Had A T.T. Gp42 For Years & Run It Often. I Have Had No Problems What So Ever With This Engine. Not A Top-top Performer, But Gets The Job Done. Which Is Most Likely What Ejp Would Be Happy With.
My Nickle :)

CF, Usually it's two pennies ;) :p , anyways I was just yankin' his chain with the CMB.
What about the RB .21 inboard, also what happened with the OS .21 RG-M?

Rc10- With Things Costing As Much As They Do Today, & Inflation & Gas Prices. I Thought That A Nickle Was A Good Deal. :D
Yes The Os .21 Is A Great Engine. I Think There A Bit Overpriced, But A Very Good Engine. I Would Buy One If I Good A Better Price Than Tower.
There Are Many Engines Out There That Are Good Performers. Unless Your Gonna Race, & Need That Extra Edge Of 1 To 2 Miles Per Hour Difference.
I think I am going to have to go with the O.S. It is 130.00 at tower and I am willing to pay that unless I find a better deal on ebay. I am getting ready to order the plans. Their going to be like gold to me. I have like 30 bucks saved up because I couldn't stop spending on my NH. Hopefully I can order these plans this weekend. If anyone has any better plans that I can get let me know. If I am going to spend 20 bucks on plans I am going to use them. Who knows maybe I'll build a bigger one that can run a gas motor if I really like it.
