malici, We're all for lower prices, but we also need to support our local hobby shops. All Horizon is trying to do is help keep the LHS's on a level playing field with the megala mart mail order stores. Tower does the same thing to a point. Great plains & Tower are the same company in the same building. Great Plains/Tower could easily underprice anyone else but I think they don't so as to be fair to the local shops. It's way more complicated than it seems. I like having local shops around so I don't have to wait for parts. Lets help keep them around by buying from them, or least part of the time.

i would rather support my LHS but, they don't carry JR radios, which im buying one, and they dont even have comm lathes unless you special order one. So i go to tower and for the first time im going to horizon for a JR XR2
im going to buy that XR2 before prices goug.

Prime , Your confusing me. Do you need to edit your post or something . It seems contradictory. We all do want the best price & the best product, but we also need local shops to supply the parts. Are you a shop owner? Peace! :)

What a load of crap! The best, well supported product for the best price is what we all want. If you make and sale that, I'll buy it if I want it. We, the buyers, have no additional obligation to support any business in this economy. That kind of thinking is tantamount to socialist doctrine.

actually.. that has been up on Brukners site for quite some time now.. not sure.. but many a months.. I got my JR Python for cheap cheap at my local hobby shop (cheaper than anywhere on the net).. also they just LOWERED the price on the XR2 not too long ago.. so I wouldn't worry about the price going up.. BTW M.A.P. pricing is standard practice in any product.. electronic companies do it all the time.. do this next weekend if you live in a big city.. grab an Ad for Best Buy or Circuit City.. pick out a big tubed Sony tv.. check the price.. then go down to the store.. what the price is lower at the store???!?!.. its because of MAP pricing.. (mandatory advertised pricing).. companies don't want there equipment sold too cheap because it makes it not look as good.. but you have the right to sell it for what ever you want.. UNLESS they have stricter polices.. such as Bose speakers or Polk Audio speakers which are price protected.. which can only go on sale when the manufactuer says so.. thats why Bose are the same price everywhere.. its not a bad thing.. actually it helps out retailers.. guarenteed profit.. and no price competition.... each distruibuter has there only policy.. but only the very "elite" would try a price protected aproach.. i figger that Brukner was listing the prices too low on there site.. not just selling them lower.. and this is why they got pulled.. he just seems upset that he got caught.. he knew what he was doing was wrong..
thank you
goodbye

Railman, you're right. I carelessly used "seller" instead of "buyer". I'm not a hobby shop owner but I've spent enough money on RC to start a hobby shop.
I agree that the LHS is a great place to get things you need quickly; but I think the buyer should always make their purchases based on value and not other people's values.
