I think it's closer to 5/16". This may be a little small, but if it is you can easily ream out a little with a hobby knife when you get to the track. It's better to be a little snug so it doesn't flop around.

Now that I look at a ruler, I think your right. When I called my local hobby shop and asked them how big it had to be, I think they said 3/8"...

I think maybe a 1/4 inch. That's what the size transponders are for the AMB system and the Autoscore system is just a hair smaller. Just borrow a ream for someone and drill a large enough hole to get it in.

Just got off my lazy butt and measured the darn windshield hole: it's 5/16", but I remember that it was a tight fit. If drill a 6/16" (3/8"), you should have nice fit.

I would still recomend drilling it small & ream it out to keep it a tight fit. Your car/truck will handle better if the transponder doesn't flop around.
