He won the worlds w/ a 7 turn? Geezuz...I thought the only people who ran motors that hot were crazies...like me for instance.

Thats really standered stuff actually. In mod oval racing I ran a 6x2 this weekend in the main that got me a 5th in the roar regionals. One of the big oval motor builders was there and had one of his guys on a 5x3. It ran really well for the first minute, but for the last three it went flat. He went back to a 7 for the main but it was fun to witness. Kinda hard to make time with that stuff, but when you can controll it, why not.

Wow...that's cool I guess. I'm just impressed that today's batteries can hold their juice well enough under that kind of amp draw to make those motors usable. That's a real credit to just how far battery technology has come.

Why does Derek Furutani sound familiar?

Because it sounds like Fussili, like "Fussili Jerry!"

He's a super fast sedan guy, normally is in the top 10 of most all big races. He winds motors for about 70% of all motor builders that do mods, including orion, peak, fantom, redline, paradigm, some overflow for putnam, bullit... the list go's on.

No he does not. I have run motors that he wound from Redline. I know for a fact that EJ has Derek wind all of his motors. I have seen other motor mfg's arms that are exactly the same. Same solder used for the wire to comm connections, same dip method for the epoxy on the arm. They were done by him.

This last weekend at the Roar region 12 race I ran a Redline motor that Derek wound for me to try in mod oval. Did some oval testing for Redline.

Redline is a customer of Team Orion USA. In the past we have sold them completed armatures to sell under their own label. Team Orion has even built team and test motors for them Since Derek is an employee, there is a chance that a particular Redline motor was wound by him. but since Team Orion USA employs three full-time wonders, there is a chance it wasn't.

Team Orion (and Derek F.) does not currently wind motors for any companies except Peak Racing. As for the others, they only wish.

Really, who is doing overflow winding now? I though that before derek was winding for orion thats what he did and that he still was. I stand corrected.

Thats what I was running, a test motor. It was what (or at least I was told) derek had wound more specifically for oval.

I have heard from quite a few people that he was doing winding for those companies that I listed.

Thanks for clearing that up.
