Remember guys, the editors don't write Pit Tips...YOU do! We're always on the lookout for good Pit Tips. Got any? It's ok if they're car-specific (for example, if your tip is only for the Team Losi Triple-XT, that's fine), or they can be general. Or they may not pertain to vehicles at all; you might have a tip for using an airbrush, modifying a tool, or...?
You can send Pit Tips in with a sketch via snail mail (the address info is on the Pit Tips page in the mag), or you can just email your ideas to Bob Hastings at bobh@airage.com.
If we publish your tip, you win a light-up OFNA yo-yo, and if we pick your idea as the issue's "Top Tip", you win an OFNA Z-10 Rally kit. There's no limit to the number of tips you can send in, so don't hold back!
Got any questions about submitting Pit Tips? Post them here!

I have a question, is it alright if we send in a pic of the actual thing. Such as mine pertains to an adding of a part to the car, if I take a picture that points it out will that work or should I include a sketch as well? Also I asked earlier to no avail, whats the ratio about for pit tips sent in as compared to the ones that actually make it in, and about how long does it take to get in?

I would say that we use one out of every twenty Pit Tips we get, but that doesn't mean the 19 we didn't use were bad; usually they're things we've seen in Pit Tips before, and its too early to repeat the idea.
Send in whatever you think is required to make your Pit Tip clear. If it's a real simple tip, you might be able to send just a description; for example, a tip like this...
"Place your foam air filter in a plastic bag, squirt filter oil in the bag, and use your fingers to squish the oil into the filter from the outside the bag. This keeps your fingers out of the oil, and makes cleanup easy--just throw out the bag"
...needs no picture. For more complex tips, you can send a sketch, a clear photo, or if its something you can spare, you can send the actual part into us! (but keep in mind, you won't get it back!)
Time to publication could be a short as next issue, or as long as 6 months. It all depends how deep the pool of good Pit Tips is! We also have Quick Tips online, and I'll start crediting reader submissions if it's not a tip we thought of here in the office.
Send those Pit Tips into bobh@airage.com!

Hey Peter,
Tell me if this one has been used.
You can make a paint booth out of a cardboard box, an old fan, and a furnace filter. Just wonderin if its been used. It works pretty good, thats what i use.
