Backordered items???

If I backordered an item at stormer or tower, would they charge my cc when I placed the order or when the item shipped??

Whenever I order from Stormer, they usually call and see what I want to do. I'm not sure with Tower, tho I think they will just omit that item and not charge your card. Both places are good about that. :D

They charge when the item is shipped.

Cool thing about tower, last time I ordered something that was on back order, they did not charge me shipping.

Stormer will hold the ENTIRE order until one lousy backorder shows up and then ship the whole thing. Or they will delete the backorder item and make you order it later and pay shipping again for it. Or if you want them to ship your original order and then ship your backorder later they make you pay full shipping on each and every backorder as it arrives. AND if the price increased since it was backordered they make you pay the new HIGHER price to boot. One big scam is all that is.

On the other hand a place like Tower ships what is in stock and charges your CC for only what they ship, and the original shipping charge. Then they maintain a record (one you can view online BTW) and ship your backordered itmes as they come in, and they ship for FREE, ALL the backorders. Your CC is billed as each individual backorder shows up for the price you ordered it at with no "surprises".

Stormer also bills you extra if the package weighs too much (they have a three pound or so max for the listed shipping price). Tower bills you only 6.99 no matter if you order one car or half the catalog worth.
