I just wonder do they charge sales tax for the purchase? They don't seem to have that info on their website. Also, any of you have a Juggernaut by Tamiya? What's the difference between the orignal tamiya juggernaut and tamiya Juggernaut 2???

I've never had to pay sales tax when buying from them. Try running a test buy without confirming the purchase. Just go to the point where they ask to confirm the purchase and one of the forms will have a list of charges on it. Just don't confirm the purchase unless you really want the item. Just a suggestion.

They only charge tax if you live in Illinois.

The difference between the Jug#1 and #2 is mostly in the diffs. The new Jug has much stronger gear train. Correct me if Im wrong (its happened once before  ) There may be other inprovements but can't think of them! And Tower Hobbies is a great place to shop. I'v been shopping there for about 10 or 12 years and NEVER had a problem! We don't have sales tax in Oregon (yet)

I believe it's a flat rate. Seven or eight dollars.

shipping is 6.99 and if you order just parts from parts express, its 3.00. You dont have to pay tax if you live anywhere in the US except Illinois.

You can also get economy ground shipping, which is $5.99. I always use it and the packages come on time, and in excellent shape.

If u join there buyers club(or a club to that tune) for 14.99 you get the standard shipping free on purchases of more than $150.
So if you plan on making more than two purchases over $150 u should join that. There are a few other perks to the club likek a free issue of a r/c mag and stuff like that but nothing that wonderful.
Just something to think about ;)

It's called the Tower Hobbies Super Saver club. It's around $25-30 to join, $15 to renew.
Yea, you guys dont know how bad 7.25% tax is when you buy $500 worth of stuff
Can't wait 'til I can move down there so I can pick it up rather than them ship it...Or even work there :(

To ship to Canada, it costs $16.99, and then we have to pay duty AND a service charge because Customs took a look at it :/ Our last order, $140 + $16.99 shipping = $157. Convert to Canadian $236 + 15% tax = $271 + $5 to look at it :/ After all that, it made it cheaper to get parts from the LHS, which I do now :)

If you have the money to buy $500+ in stuff anyways, I wouldn't be complaining much about the sales tax! :)
Cause I dont have a job and my parents spend as much money on me as they do on garbage ;)
You have to pay Canadian tax? Im suprised Tower charges tax for Canadian purchases.
Oh yea, my REAL car fund has about $650 into it. Did I mention that its all going to a Kyosho V-One R as soon as Tower gets them in stock? Ohhh, what a world.

1. Tower isn't a retail outlet. It's a warehouse, so they don't let you "shop" at their facility. You can't even go inside it let alone buy stuff in it. BTW they make this clear in their catalogs.
2. Tower doesn't charge the Canadian taxes because they WANT to, CANADA forces them to. If CANADA wasn't so greedy with taxes and customs it wouldn't be so expensive to buy from Americans. Blame the Queen and your president/prime minister, not Tower for your problems.

:D Towerhobbies, great place to buy through MAIL ORDER only... 7$ shipping, 7.5% sales tax?? pretty much everyone covered that. I am a super saver, have been for 2 years now... Its not 15$ to renew, its 30$ for a year, only in June and July they have a special of only 15$ for a membership. I got it in July so I can renew every year at the same time for the same price... 150$ orders get free shipping, sometimes 15$ off etc.

JP: Tower doesn't charge me tax, Canada Customs does :) They take the value of the goods, convert to Canadian and then apply GST/PST.
HPIGUY: Tower DOES NOT charge Canadian tax because Tower isn't allowed to charge Canadian tax since they don't operate in Canada. Besides, who was blaming Tower for his/her problems??????? I didn't say it was their fault. Read the post, I said CUSTOMS charges the PST/GST and a fee for just looking at the package. I don't have a "problem" paying taxes, when you by things outside your country, you pay taxes and duties. Same thing if you bought something from Canada, US Customs would charge you the applicable taxes and a fee for looking at it. What are you talking about Canada being greedy? EVERYBODY has to pay taxes of some sort. You need to take a chill pill dude. Sounds like you don't like us Canadians!

Tower is great.... Postage to me here in New Zealand hurts a lot, but it still works out cheaper than buying my gear here in New Zealand. Just wish I could get nitro fuel shipped over here. I dont like paying $20 for 800mls.. Nope not one little bit.

Orange:
I renew in April and I get it for 14.99.
I think they offer it to all members who act like they might not renew if it's 29.99.
All my friends pay 14.99 and we have renewals all year long. Not just in June and July.

Gutter Ball.. I live in Canada and work in the US so I get to shop at LHS's all over the US. Then I just take it home as part of my allowable of $750/month. I tried shopping at the only shop in town but they have bupkiss.
So I save up all my shopping for my working jaunts. ;) ;)

Bluesy: Whoa!!! They let you bring back $750/month?!?!?! Lucky you!! :) I only make day trips to Michigan, so they usually don't let me go if I have more than $75US worth.

I can proudly say that I haven't bought a **** thing from them. I will pay more(often the same) at my LHS.
Tower hobbies doesn't support the local tracks in my area, my LHS does!!!
