Well this is another of my many posts in the prosute for more rc knoledge. well i'm really mad because my gas rc isn't living up to my expectations of going through tough train and coming out with out a scratch.I'm considering going to 1/10 electric on road cars just so after every run i won't have to clean it off and fix all the parts that broke on my run. It can get very expensive very fast.I would like some sugestions if i sould move out of gas or getting a 1/8 that is extreamly durableor get out of off road and move to onroad gas or electric.I really like rc a whole lot but am getting very pi**ed off with crudy worksmanship .
Thanks
Clint :)

What type of car do you have now? Just because it's nitro-powered doesn't mean it's automatically invincible...

Duratrax Maximum St with many hop ups but i guess not enough to improve durability much. :) :D

Tamiyas are TANKS. If you can break one, I'd like to know how!

I have had my eye on a TC3 but am not really shure that is what i'm looking for.I want to move to some thing more statigic you could say, fast, eye catching, and ca take some abuse.I'll keep tamiya in mind but i'd like to get the low down on some others befor i make my final decision.
Thanks :)

Mis i know how you fell 100% i have lets see....a nitro 4 tec, 5 ofna z10's and a ofna monster blazer and not ont of them is working!!!! the 4 tec needs a new shock and has been siting on the shelf for about a year or more! the monster blazer well i got engine problems im trying to figure them out the z10's are a project in the works. i have an old RC10 that i thougt about fixing so i could at least play with RC once this summer. all my rc right now are just paper weights. all my friends come over and see these cars and like lets go start it up and i have to tell them a story for each car. im close to selling all my nitro and buying a real car

Sounds like you need to touch up on the driving skills first. Most electrics (on road at least) are pretty fast and will break on a pretty hard hit, just as any RC will do.
The craftmanship of the rc cars is fine, as long as someone with some control is driving.
Can you take a real pickup truck and hit a jump full throttle and land ok?

EDIT: Double post, sorry. Also, no offense intended, just bring up a point. They can only take so much abuse.

i see what you mean but i wouldn't mind all of the broken parts if they weren't so expensive and have to be running to the lhs to spend 50 bucks on stuff i bought last week as for the controle i haven't had any major accidents just the norm stuff that happens when with your friends like takeing turns a little too fast and barrel rolling a coupple of times but all is good and a aray of other small but i guess abrasive accidents
Thanks :)

What offroad vehicle are you having so much trouble with?
you said you had a max st well i had one too and i can sum it op in two words it sucked i cant say anything more. duratrax makes crappy cars ( in my opinion)

misfit: What kind of parts are you breaking? I know Duratrax has the Stress-Tech parts, so you really shouldn't be breaking to much.

Really small parts that don't really take too much abuse like in the steering ect. that is bad but having those screws that strip really easy 1 turn where it doesn't hook up and you spend about an hour trying to get one out.I like off road but i think on road looks much more sleeker and doesn't kill your car in the end.I would also like a little less mess electrics sound good because you can just flip them and most of the dirt will fall off with gas the gas holds the dirt till you get inside and knock it off on you floor.what do you all sugest?
Thanks :)

My HPI EMT was as fragile as an egg. My Pro 2 was a tank. All RC though will break when you abuse them.

Ok, I have a Tamiya Stadium Blitzer. Its not the fastest truck in the world but when I took it up against a Losi and Rc10t3 it kept up and actully beat them. So, its not that slow and I have friends drive it and we beat it. We have driven into trees, curbs, my house, living room wall and anything else around and never broke a part. I will every now and then loose the pin in the wheel but thats because I don't tighten the nut enough. So, I will say that Tamiya's are great but people say that can't keep up but they can so thumbs up Tamiya!!!!!
