I have a tc3 also, I plan on getting a tc4 when the Factory Team comes out in a year or so. Some nice hopups for the tc3 are.

1. Get a set of ceramic ball bearings.

2.And new chassis like "Penguin rc chassis" that rocks or "BMI chassis".

Those two things will cost you about $220.00. Then get the FTTC4 when it comes out.

But other shaft drive cars are,Yokomo,HPI Pro4,Tamiya,and the TC4. All great cars! But I would see what happen at the 2004 world. And then pick.

Good luck,hope this helps. :D

i can't really say what is best, but i like the Tamiya TB Evolution IV and Yokomo MRTC-SD7 (aka MR-4TC SD CGM Special). Model names/part # are a mess but an easy way to tell this car is it's tub chassis.

The Yokomo SD CGM Special is my favorite.

you also can't count out the associated tc3 and hpi pro4.

well, the HPI Pro 4 gets my vote. But, if you want to have a little extra money, get the TC4. It comes out of the box fast, and with some simple tricks can be even faster.

Would the TC4 be worth getting?

It looks promising, but with any purchase do research (ie internet, asking around) before you commit to anything.

I am in the same pool - I have owned a TC3 for 2 years and because of the new TC designs coming out I may look at updating.

Personally, it's between the TC4 and Pro 4. If I get ceramic bearing for my TC3, I'll get a TC4 becuase $100 worth of bearings would essentially go to waste. On the other hand, the Pro 4 looks awesome and Hara has been killing everyone with it.

I'd like to see the new Yokomo that Easton is wheeling. He was really fast with it at the Worlds.

If they get some onroad racing going on here, I think I will pickup another STR4-Pro to race. The academy has a very smooth drivetrain on the SB Buggy, which is just the converted sedan.

So far though the X-Ray has really impressed me even though I like AE stuff alot and ran a BMI TC3.

The Pro4, although it may run well, isnt that durable. Also, the parts have been hard to obtain. The tc4 looks pretty good, but not enough people have really tried it yet. At this point, I would get tc4 because you are almost guarenteed to have an 'up to date' car (non-discontinued) for at least 3 more years, where as other manufactures like to come out with a car every year.
