I am new to RC and have bought an E-MAXX. I took off the wheels to glue the tires and need to know how tight to make the nuts. One of the wheels seem looser than the other 3.
Also, what are the best type of batteries to use 1500? 1900? 3000?
Are there any things I should do to the truck before I run it?
Help!

What i do is tightin the nuts till they are nice and firm when you turn whatever tool you are using. Then i just back off a little bit and check and see if nothing is binding and its all nice and snug together.

I snug um down pretty tight so that they don't work there way off after lots of ruuning. You should checkk them often to make sure they are tight. I would say turn them until they are snug, then a little more.
agree with rc10...
Tighten them snug, then a little more and check them often.
For batteries, I am getting 2400's for my E-Maxx, but 3000's are ok, though need a special charger.
Go to page 11 in the manual and do the checklist thingie. Tighten wires, tighten pinions...etc. Also, go through the ESC set-up so it works properly and you get the most power.

I put a small amount of blue locktite on the nuts when I put my wheels on,this assures they don't come loose and you don't have to guess about how tight to go.

Heres what i do, Put some super glue and locktight on the nut. Use a impact gun and snug em real good. After that, tack weld the nut onto place. I guarentee, theyll never come off. Nah jk. I snug em, then go a little bit more.

oh yeah and for the batteries the 2400's are the best for the e-maxx but the trinity maxx paxx 1900's are the best value since you get two. I have 2400's but i plan to get a pair of maxx paxx for playing around

Yes, Loctite is a brand of threadlock compound, I believe that their 242(the blue stuff) is fine for most of our purposes.... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
Does Loctite work on plastic wheel nuts or just metal to metal?

It will work on both metal and plastic but use the blue not the red or you might never get things loose again.
