Herr Starlite, DC1717 motor, ARC prop, JMP HF9 ESC, (3) CR-2 batteries, MPI MX-6800 RX, FMA S-60 servos, Pactra paint, mylar covering, lite-stick wheels, 5.3 oz RTF.
One short flight so far: Plans specify friction fit motor mount. So I friction fit, check fit by holding plane by prop and shaking, still tight. First flight- beautiful climb out from hand launch, rock solid, no trim required, about a minute into the flight the motor pulls out. Kill motor, motor hanging by wires, it has the most awesome gliding characteristics, gentle landing at my feet and motor drops off wires, almost no damage at all. From what little I've seen so far, this is one sweet flying plane. Incredible glide (at least without a freewheeling prop holding it back). Next time I'll glue the motor plate in place.

Dan

She is a handsome plane. Those colors look great together. I like to mount the Faulhaber motor to a 1/32 ply disk with holes for the shaft and the two mounting holes in the face of the motor. I use 2mm short screws, then I mount the ply to the fuselage with 2-56 bolts or with small screws that go into either blind mounting nuts (for the 2-56 bolts buried in some balsa in the fuselage) or just screw into some balsa blocks fixed to the fuselage. That way you can take the motor out, but have a really secure mount. Hope you can follow my description. Otherwise wrap some paper around the motor for a tighter fit.
