OK i was bashing with my pede in my woods hitting some jumps i made :D but then the batt died so waited 20min charged it and put it in but this time it was super slow. So just thinking my 30$ charger false peaked i recharged it and the same slowness so i got out an old pack i had charged it slaped it in and still slow. So i switched the motor and still slow. Hmmm i just dont understand ill try putting the packs in my friends truck tomorrow, but any tips will be much aprechiated.

Thanks

You tried different packs and motors, right? Did you check the truck for any mechanical damage? Something might be binding, or the MSC (If you use one) could be worn.

Yeah definitaly try to put them in your freinds truck but if you cant find anything thats wrong, it might be your charger. BTW what charger do u have i might be able to help you out with it. good luck

my friend matt has to spend time with his gf today and i was pretty pissed because he said hell be home (he lives on the other side of town) with a pede in my backpack and it was half raining after school. But o well so once I got home I put the stock stinger in and at first they were the same so i lightly filed some of the comm off (motor lath=rubber band ananother motor and the armature you work on is between 2 holes in 2 2x4's) but that helped not by much. So I proceded to change the brushes nothing so i changed back and then it was worse so i changed back and even worse. so i slaped the stinger in and once the batts get off the charger they have some punch but dies out in about 20seconds then the batt lasts slow for a im not sure how much longer.

Nothing sounds as if its binding i spun the spur with my hands as smooth as butter, axles are fine, motor mags still strong, just dont get it. one of my side by side pack cells died today both packs in about 2 weeks. Plus whenever i take my batt off the charger after a full charge its hot sometimes whare you cant hold it and some when you can.

(bad month for my rc)

Any in put is apreachiated and emaxxrdr88 i have a mega peak charger that either does 1 amp for reciver packs or 4 amps for 6-7 cells. Its a pretty bottom of the line charger. probli in the 35$ range

Ok after doing alot of other tests the high end is the same but the low end is horrable i'v switched to all three motors i have the stinger and the street spec are close but the street spec is a bit more on acceleration and top speed, the gm3 is basicaly working like **** rite now dont know why either one second it work and the next it doesnt move. I think iv noticed the batt lasts a little bit longer so i think theirs a resistance problim.

I have a GM3 ESC and it is finnicky as well. I thought it might have been because I tried setting it up with a semi-charged pack, but I haven't had the urge to try it in a 1/10th scale car (It is currently in my Micro, which I don't use).

yea i was just thinking you know how the brushes are new and everything all new with a brand new truck (can i say new again) well maybe because iv been driving it for about a week the finish or whatever has wore off and this is causing it to not role as eazy when under acceleration all the stress may cause it to bind only when im driving it. I think thats teh problim and i have the stock gearing 18/88 with my 19t reedy spec could that be a problim.

Have you got bearings in it? The stock bushings might be worn or dirty.

stock bushings till xmas. But i figured out the problim ... sun spots because i pluged my side by side pack in after discharging it and it kept saying it was peaked so i did the one amp setting then did the 4 amp and threw it in expecting nothing to change and it does a 10ft long burnout :) i just dont get it it could be that my batts are going and my charger is starting to die both batts are about 2-3 years old but didnt get 1 1/2 out of them cus my ruslter died.

are you running nicad or nimh? I'm pretty sure that charger you have is a nicad only charger. So if you are running nimh cells, it will kill them by overcharging them. I'm pretty much basing this on the fact that your batteries will come extremely hot off of the charger.

You do know to let your pack cool completely before recharging, right?

When you get bearings, be sure to get the RPM bearing carriers to handle larger bearings: The 5x8mm bearings that slip right in are fragile and can fail easily.

NOT (fragile and can fail easily) WILL FAIL get the RPM carriers and if you been running on the bushings awhile you will prob need the axles to.

i had the bushing for about a month from today and i know to get the rpm carriers 5x11 bearings im pretty sure. what are some other valuable upgrades that improve performance?(a lot and not to expensive)

If you don't have an ESC, snag one of those. And some low-loss battery connectors will help with speed and run time.
