great!! Its not very expensive, and will make entry into 1/8 racing a lot easier, it will surely handle a bit worst than modern 1/8 racers ( higher CG due to high fuel tank) but will for sure be great car, one thing bothers me, RTR but with what engine, cause i HIGHLY doubt that theyll include sirio ( as pictured)

I would think that it will come with the Sirio because it was in the car when it was shown and it is in the picture that has the info on the car that posted in this thread. If not, then what engine comes with it?
Also, any info on it's top speed?

Steve- Will the RTR include different features compared to the Pro version, or the same? Reminds me of how cheap (pricewise) the NEO vehicles were. The Attack 10th scale onroad was about $330 and the Saber 8th scale onroad was $360. Cheap cars, but a weapon in the hands of a good driver.

Any updates? For that price, it would make one heck of a beater.

Yeah, for 399 with an FM radio and a motor... Holy cow.
I really doubt they'd sell that car with a sirio and a hard coated pipe with the carbon fiber chassis parts on a RTR for that price. The engine alone would cost more than the price tag of the car/engine/radio.

I would almost bet that it will come with all the carbon bits(look at the swift buggy). The sirio and the pipe on the other hand i doubt. Also will Schumacher be distributing this in the u.k? As i know they distribute the swift buggy.

400$ for a rtr 1/8 on-road is very appealing to me, i highly doubt i would ever get into 1/8 on-road racing, (dont even know were they race on-roads in my area less than 3 hour drive away) i just want an 1/8 on-road that holds up well to a nice power plant and handles well enough to bash around a parking lot to show off to some friends. i may have to check this out after a few people have good things to say about it. (as in it doesnt fall apart before one gallon or something like that)

Wow!! What a deal. $399 is cheap since it even includes an sweet FM radio. I might have to look into this one.

Why would you list the price of the RTR and not the Pro when the RTR won't be released for awhile?

Make it sound like an awesome price. Then come out iwth the Pro with the same price or higher because it's much better. I don't know! It' just one of those weird advertising things that we all don't get!

The pro version is out now, anybody take the plunge yet.$390 isnt to bad for a 1/8 scale on-road.

there is a review on the xr8 on the ace webpage:
I thought this kit was GREAT! Has all the features of a MRX-4 and the EVOLVA for a killer price!! Features including PBS, CF radio tray, Centrax clutch, way too cool. I am averaging 35MPH on a small track.
Rating: 5 of 5 Stars! [5 of 5 Stars!]
p.d: the pro version is a rolling chassis kit, its on the same page in acehardwarehobbies

YES! My entry level 8th scale onroad! I may just go with this instead of an MT and slap my RB S5 in there for just horsing around. I'm sure its massive low end will get me upto top speed in to time. It sounds like a play to me. I'm up for it. Oh man, I've got goosebumps thinking about the insane acceleration with the RB S5:D!

I have it alreaady =D. Its a great car, better than my HPI Proceed i've got. The design is killer. I'm tellin ya, if PRP gets some good factory team drivers, its possible they can beat Lamberto Collari with the XR8. Parts support is kind of bad around here, as PRP doesn't stock any spares in my local LHS. Its allright tho, this car is durable and i've only broken a suspension arm by being stupid, so i think its a good car durability wise. I would highly recommend this car for any elvova, MRX, proceed, 950R, Delta, and Slide owners who want to experience a new aspect to 1/8th onroad racing. I'm telling ya, this car is KILLER.

As a Kyosho Evolva owner, surely you jest in implying the XR8 will allow driver s to "experience a new aspect" of 1/8 scale driving. The XR8 is a good beginners car for those interested in 1/8 scale, but after seeing it up close I don't think it will provide any "new" aspect" or "perspective" on 1/8 on-road cars.

I'm not saying hands down its a better car, but im saying, the way the car is made is very unique, the way the weight distributes during turns is different than other 1/8th onroaders. Trust me, ive driven most 1/8th onroads out there, its different. Also, what i've never liked about 1/8th onroads is you need to "massage" the parts to make them fit which could possibly create some play in the tranny/steering. But every piece fit very fine in this kit :) . Oh well though, I cant change your opinion, just try the XR8 =D.

Well the RB is gone. Ah well. That leaves room for another engine when I get this ride.
VWNTC3-Gonna hit up on Floyd Bennett this summer again? I hope to get down there if possible with my R40. I saw lots of pics on powerlineracing's webpage. I miss the fun. :(x10

I'd like one too - just to run up the street and show off. Parts support will be poor, but no worse than any other 1/8 scale onroad as there are are none in my area. Can't wait for that tax return!

i think its a great idea, though, a club level / entry level 1/8th onrad car.
1/8th scale has been dying out over the last few years, in comparison to the poularity of touring has been increasing dramatically., i think the main reason is the price, its just too steep for most people to run 1/8th scale, especially at the club level.
two years ago i ran a sepent veteq a full season at club level, and it cost me a small fortune to keep that pos going. i was considering an mrx3 because of its lower price, but i think that this car will fit the bill nicely, its not like im going to the worlds or anything, i just want to run on my small local club track, without needing a second mortgage or selling a kidney.
my only concern is the parts support, can you order directly from the supplier?

i think you can....i might buy this car as a backup or just to b.s. around the parking lots...and save the serpent 950 for the races....choco

If not, ask your local hobby shop to get an account with Happy Time Hobby distributors. (www.happytimehobby.com)

as far as engine is concerned, MEGA zx21 all the way, i used to run an evo5 and it is said by a couple of drivers that i have talked to that it is just as powerful as the ev05 which is plenty of power. at $269 , cant beat it.
also, i used to use an RD logics one-piece pipe, and it made that novamega sing, excellent value at about $50
so think about it:
car $350 + motor $269 + pipe$50 = $669 , which is about the cost of the serpent KIT !

I had the pleasure of seeing an open box at Ace Hobbies (I live 35 minutes away!), and the parts are quite high-quality, although the instructions could use some clarification. As an MRX-4 owner, I do indeed believe that the XR8 could ease previously-intimidated drivers into 1/8-scale on-road racing. Granted, foam tires are foam tires and any modern .21 will eat them up in no time, but for the money it's a great value. Plus, the company is right here in the Bay Area, and they have great customer service. If I didn't question the logic of having two 1/8-scale cars I'd snap one up in a heartbeat.
