Here’s the kit version of HPI’s MT2. Like HPI’s other “SS” kits, the MT2 gets a horsepower boost in DIY form thanks to a high-output .18SS engine, plus some choice upgrades. Hardened diff gears, heavy-duty universals and outdrives, stiffer shock springs, Dirt Bonz Jr. tires, turnbuckle tie rods and camber links, and a larger-than-stock100cc fuel tank are all standard.
Item no. and price TBA

Very nice, although the steering link is pretty exposed. I guess someone can make a guard for it, though. :)

Man, that looks so awesome. I love that they went with a .18. If I get one Im gonna go with that same color scheme.

This would be a cool class if people would race them. That much power would be quite fun.

Anyone else make 4wd stadiums at this level? I know that MRC has a truck that is 4wd and is available in a pro configuration with a .18 engine ( Epic? ).

I wish it came with pro-line tires, mip cvds, and without an engine like the HPI nitro mt racer. The upgraded driveline is great but will it still come with the same slipper? I found the stock slipper to slip badly unless it was locked down(and that was with a fantom fr.15.

Who knows, they may release a racer style kit if interest is high enough. With guys loving 1/8 scale buggy racing, these type of vehicles give them the 4wd handling they like plus ALOT of power with those .18 engines in them.

yeah it would be cool if there was a racing class for 1/10th 4WD truck.
mrc/adademy rt4-gp looks promising too.

I may get one of those trucks for the summer. Still a big up in the air but depending on how a few things go, That truck may be in my arsenal.

I just figure that will guys liking monster trucks and there 4wd, these could be popular as they are smaller so you can run them more race places, have pretty powerful engines, and are 4wd.

they did it right this time

that truck always needs a new set of tires
the hd gears for the f/r diffs like an $85 dollar upgrade
the universial f/r is about 50
the outdrives are like a 20 dollar upgrade
hopefullt the engine will be good so the only thing the trust really needs is a new exhaust

Is there room for me to throw in a rear exhaust pull start engine?

Are you kidding, its HPI what did you expect?

Thats great, a flimsy flier chassis with more HP to fold it with! They didnt improve the chassis or fix its weakness so there is a high likelyhood you will taco the front end or blow out the spur gear.

Oh well back to the drawing board.....

the solution to that is to jb weld 2 chassis together

The MT1 had a 2mm chassis. The MT2 and SS have a 2.5mm chassis. So, they did try to improve it. If you still need it stronger, get the optional 7075 aluminum chassis.

too bad a class for these just isn't there. Would be cool to run in. Say a motor limit of .18 ( sorry outlaw guys ) and go from there.
