My electronics failed on my Mini T so I got the Mamba Comp X for it. I am a bit disappointed in it to tell the truth, My Mass Termination motor was faster, I guess it could be my 6 cell pak, I am going to get Lipos but I expected more.

Anything I could be doing wrong?

What kind of cells are you running? Did you set up the controller wrong? What EXACTLY are you disappointed in? All out speed, torque, or both? It's always possible something is damaged or it's geared off a bit.

Battery quality is a factor in motor performance. I've heard nothing but good things about the mamba (especially on lipos! WOO!).

I am running Trinity 6cell NiMH. I did some testing last night with some 4 and 5 cell paks and its amazing how much just 1.2 volts does for this motor, with the 4 cell it would barely move at all!!! I am just going to have to wait foy lipos too see what it can do I guess, I may make an 8 cell pak just to see how that does. With the 6 cell pack it just isn't snappy it takes it forever to get up to speed and it NO tourque at all.

brushless loves juice man unlike brushed!!!! give it lipoes or give it 12 cells.

thats not true. brushless is more effiecent than brushed. that said the comp-x does eat batteries. it could be that you pack is just fried. you dont need li-pos or a 12 cell battery pack to make it go-but with a 3 cell li-po it will do 60 with stock gearing. make sure your controller is set up correctly.

The Controller seemed easy to set up, I adjusted the settings and tested the various timing advance settings but it didn't change much, What is timing advance anyway?

My only experience is with a gentlemen at the local track running the comp-x in his mini-t. He ran a 6 cell AA pack, and that truck was insane. He had a 8 cell pack, but claimed there was no use for it on our small track. I have to agree, he couldn't keep the front end down, even at the end of the race... which was only 5 minutes, but still going very strong.
