I am looking to upgrade my old wrench and nut driver sets. I am wanting to go all Carbon Fiber Handles. Can anyone tell me who makes some really nice sets? Please also list their web sites so I can check out some pics.
I know Hudy and Ofna make some but was wondering if there were any other manufacturers!

noone makes carbon fiber wrenches. the ofna ones and the hudy ones are aluminum. the hudy ones are empty/hollow handles and im not sure of the ofna ones. personally id get the hudy ProfiTools-they are plastic but i think they are more comfortable than the aluminum handles. also they are spring steel tipped so they will take a LONG time to round.

Haven't noticed any carbon fiber handles yet myself. There are alot of companies making wrenches and nut drivers.
Associated, Bolink (Torquer Nut Driver Set), Integy, Racers Edge, MIP (Thorp Nut Drivers), Trinity, NifTech, Orion, Parma, Durbro etc.
Associated makes a composite tool set, that included with most of their kits or available separately. They do wear out and price to replace isn't bad.

Are the renches really carbon fiber, or do they just have the design on the outside?

Mabey, but spending extra money on hex drivers for lighter, cooler looking handels is kind of a waste. I think the regular trinity hex drivers have the best handels because they are triangular and make it easier to torque screws because they're easier to grip than the hex drivers with the round handels. If you're buying high quality stuff the quality of the tips will be pretty much they same between different brands, although I wouldnt be suprised if the hudy driver had better tips though.

I have the Losi drivers-the best IMO!
Carbonfiber handled tools? What a waste. But if they make'm & you like'm, go for it.
Prices for rc are high enough now.

Carbon fiber allen wrench? The first thing that comes to mind is carbon fiber splinters!

Thanks for all of the input guys. I have a complete set of the silver triangle Trinity wrenches and nut drivers, but they were purchased at the time they first came out and are getting pretty old. Several have almost rounded tips and the handles are starting to show the scratches of use from the last 7 years. It's just time to upgrade.
I hear ya about pimping the car and not the tool box, but if I'm gonna buy new I auta' get something good. The thing I like about the Trinity wrenches is they do not roll off the tables because of their triangle shapped handles. Everything I have seen on the market is round and I see guys all the time picking up their tools off the ground.
I may look into just replacing my Trinity wrenches with some Kinwald or HARD wrenches. Not sure yet.
Thanks for all of the help guys!

if the tips are rounding just replace all the tips and you will be good

The kinwald wrenches are nice. My buddy has them, and they definatly are pimp. Super light, its allmost stupid how light they are, but very cool. It scares me to use them. I have used them a lot and they work good, but they dont have the solid feel that my thorp wrenches do. We use those in the shop, as well as in my own tool box for race days. I have been on my set for 4+ years with not a rounded or broken tip yet. Its the best investment in tools I have made yet. My buddy has had his set for about a year, so far no problems, but everytime I use them, I just feel like I am going to break it, I wouldnt gorrilla grip them like I would my thorp wrenches.

What's the deal? I wrench around on Machines all day long and I'm happy with standard wrenches and hardened drivers. Is there some special criteria in RC or do they just look cool?

Really nice yet affordable wrenches... rdlogics.com $40 for a set of 7 i think, high quality alum anno'd handles (just like hudy but color coded handles). Trinity did make a BK edition set with really small handles (just of BK! lol) but they were like $100+ for 4. I dunno if they still make them, and it was real CF.

hey guys, im new to track design, ive had remote control cars all my life, i started out with "toy" ones. I grew out of it after one car i bought broke the next day and the store didnt let me get warranty, Now im back into it, with a Nicad battery 1/10 scale. Me and a few mates are looking to make a track in my backyard and just want to know the basic specifications, how wide on straights, how wide on turns, and how long the track should be! thanks a bunch guys!
