How exactly does the MIP Boost Bottle and Chamber work?? And are they really worth it?

Thanks!

Here is what Mr. Paris has to say about it:

Spend your money on a gallon of fuel, or a bunch of practices. It's not worth giving it to you (but it looks cool! but NOT for $25).

How exactly does it work though??

increases the volume between the carb and crank port, kinda like a reserve

It does not work. Period. Go read that link from Ron Paris above.

If you are unaware of who Ron Paris is, his engines have won dozens of national championships, as well as powering several IFMAR world championship winning rides.

BTW, when is the last time you say one of the factory drivers running a boost bottle? If they worked, they would run them.

See ya...

Lay off! He is just wondering what the theory is behind the boost bottle. If I knew it I would tell you. I think it is along the lines of it gives the air that is trying to get into the engine a place to go when the piston moves up and down, but this could be totally wrong.

The way I understand it, it's suppose to even out the crankcase & intake pulses to help intake breathing @ low rpm. I don't know of anyone that uses it, or has said anything good about them. My understanding is that they would have to be way big to have the desired effect. There are so many outstanding new motors out there
that don't need it so why bother? Just my.$02

Hey Thanks! and I was just wondering the theory behind it...I don't even run gas ;) Just seen them around and was wondering what they were suppose to do.

Thanks Again

boostbottles on .21 are more common on .15 and .12's and others. I second the answer to smoothing out the pressure pulses.
