I Have Been Looking At The Hobbico Nitro Airboat , The Airforce Rtr . Tower Hobbies Is Offering These At A Decent Low Price, But Is This Type Of Boat Allright? I Have The Nitro Hammer So I Know About Hobbico,s Products And Parts. Just Thinking About This Type Of Boat, Speed, Power, type Of Water Use, Dependability? Any Responce To These Questions Would Help Make Up My Mind. These Threads Do Help Change Our Minds. Thanks, Ohiobh. :)

I used to have one of the plastic versions and it sucked. Now they are only in fiberglass so it may be all the difference it needed. The plastic was bad cause: to light, in a bit of wind it would fly and flip. Mind you it was only rated for a TT 40 max, but I had the TTpro 46 on it.
Plastic version wasnt nitro proof. would crack up in a year or 2.
I would expect these problems to be solved with the fiberglass versions. Still wouldn't run it in rough water though unless it was underpowered enough to stay on the water.
Other than that I had lots of fun with my version of it. Very easy to maintain and the 46TTpro didn't have the painful airbleed screw which helped me make it run so nice. ;)

I Just Bought The Rtf Air Force With The .46 I Have Only Run 4 Tanks Thru It So Far. I Feel Like A Newbee Running This Boat , The Slide Thru The Turns Type Steering Is Totally Different From My Other Boats, very Exciting For The Guy Running It And The Gathering Crowd That Wants A Better Look.it So Far Hasnt Let Me Down. Starts Easy , Idles Down Nicely, Takes Off Smoothly, Tricky Steering Thou.maybe A Less Pitch Prop Would Help.?more Run Time And Some Slight Mods With Weather Permitting! I,ll Master The Skills It Takes To Slide The Turns. Otherwise Enjoy!
