It is a glow plug ignitor with LED lights on it. I'm not sure if the lights are for tuning it or to tell you how much battery is left. One guy told me that it was for tuning. Here are a few links to the product:

Andy - it appears to be a sophisticated glow igniter. It's not going to help you tune the engine, but it appears to be able to alter the amount of power to the plug when the engine is flooded, making it easier to start.

Dad, if you are looking at this, I just found out what it does! The lights tell if your engine is flooded while starting. If you hook up the ignitor while running, and it is at good temperature, it will tell you how much fuel is in the engine. Just like when you are starting it. So...uh....Im gonna get one!
andy, I think you are mistaken. Maybe you need to go to the LHS and talk to the guy that has one there and see his in action. If you "talk" to him on line, see if he is still working at the local hobby shop.

Dad, he doesn't work there anymore. He sells kits, puts them together, and sells other stuff by himself. No hobby shop. He doesn't race at Hobby Stop much. He only races in Aiken, SC.
