View Full Version : Can I personally waterproof a servo?

I mean taking the screws out of the back, taking the plate off, putting some saran wrap around the circuitry, running a thin bed of grease around the surface, placing the plate back on, screwing it down, then placcing anothe bed of grease around the top area(where the screws will join the two pieces).

You might, I think the seran wrap would screw it up but maybe. If you have an old servo you dont need anymore, or if your friends do, try it on that first and see how it works that way if the idea is no good you dont have to go shopping

take the top part off and seal the area below the gears with silcone. Some servos have holes in that area that lead to where the chip and the motor are. Seal those holes with silacone but make sure it is flat. Put some grease where the motor shaft comes up into the gear area. Seal the bottom with silicone.
BTW you probably shouldn't run your car under water anyway
