Airbrushes $200
Compressor $200
Paint $500 to $1000
I just counted up 118 bodies in my pics, another 10 on hand at an average of $23 a piece. $2,944.00

Conservative estimate over the last 5 years $3,844.00

Now the cars and equipment, that's the really scary part...

40 bodies @ $20 each = $800
2 bodies @$50 each = $100 Tamiya hard body.
1 body @$100 Complete Tamiya Jugg body

There's a grand on bodies alone.

25 cans with atleast some paint left in them. Lets say $3 each = $75
Thats not counting cans I have used and threw away.

Damn I need to give up this "hobby".

I think i have you guys beat.

Molds are about ~$5000. We have about 12. How much is that? Oh yeah, and thousands of dollars in lexan, art work, and overhead.

edit: sorry, I should have included I work for PTI Racing (www.ptiracing.net)

Mobil, so when is the Evo2 coming out? When can we see more 190mm bodies from you guys? I'd like to see some open cockpit bodies like the Parma Panoz but actually fit a TC like the Xray.

And to think none of this includes the hundreds to thousands of dollors for the vehicles that all these bodies ride on plus the support equipment. I think I am pushing the $15000 mark myself.

Seein' my handy work proudly shown at 40+mph on the track....priceless :)

200$ in airbrushes
200$ paint
40 bodies 800$

that comes no where close to what I have spent on RC maybe 10,000 in the last two years on various projects 777, RC10GT, T-Maxx, NTC3, Villian EX  :o :) :D

LoL I don't bash all that much if you count up the times I race per year and divide by how much I have spent, thats like a 300 dollar race day!

PitStops 15,000 I'm glad to hear there are others that talk in the tens of thousands!

You know it's bad when you have more $ in 1/10 scale cars than you do in the 1/1 scale that got you to the track.

And none of this includes everything I ordered Today XB8 $650.00, OS V-Spec $310.00, OS pipe $150.00, JR servos $225.00, novak switch and 2 xxtra recievers $275.00, tires $30.00. for a grand total of $1640.00 plus tax.

then there will be the umpteen dozens of tires and wheels and bodies and fuel and whatever else to race another class next season.

We are making some changes that should improve efficiency. Its been more of a project for us, and honestly with the TC4 coming out, releasing a new touring car wouldnt be the best thing. If we hold out a little longer and utilize all the technology and refinements then we should have a better car that will compete with whats currently on the market.

We have a Nissan R390 in 200 that fits a 190 pretty well. Its a really low slung body thats really nice. The problem with open cockpit bodies is first, they dont provide the downforce over the center section of the car (no windshield) and second, they're not roar legal.

Thanks Mobile, I've tried the R390 on every car I have (xray, tc3, ntc3) and it doesn't fit. The front and rear ends sweep to low to let them sit right on the car. The body mounts are too high.

Being in Canada, the bodies I get are around $35-$40.

So add up around 14 1/10s and 4 1/18s

$560+$140 = $700

Plus around 30 cans of paint which is around $7 per can

$700 + $210 = $910

I didn't even add the taxes on it yet.... ouch..

I have had around 35 Bodies that I bought, many of which are $40 and $50 Tamiya bodies. Truck bodies also, we'll put the average price at $30. So $30 x 35 = Holy! Jeeze! over $1000 on bodies!? Not to mention I have about 50 Pactra/testors paint bottles. Those are like $3 at the LHS so like $150 worth of paint, not to mention a $150 compressor and a $100 airbrush, plus all my masks, decals, ect. Man...

5 1/5th scale bodies @ about $250 each...$1250
Gallons of paint for the above..................$300
Stika............................................. ......$450
Airbrush.......................................... .....$150
Decals (never included with 1/5 scale).......$150
Samba 3 pipe to allow GT bodies...............$300
New body mounts & wheel spacers for TT...$100

Thats $2700! I better stop adding up how much I've spent...I'm getting dizzy.

It's scary when you sit down and think about it, a little here a little there you don't notice it, but then someone asks a question like this and you go holy cow i spent this much on that.... then you do what I did the first time and think about the cars the bodies go on. and first you say "crap" then you do it "crap"!
