I bought a truck off of ebay a couple months ago. The guy I got it from was very nice and honest. Just make sure to ask all your questions you have and check there feedback.

Yeah, I haven't bought a car itself off of eBay, but I have bought a charger, radio(my KO EX-1Mars), & I just sent payment for a laptop that I needed to replace my old one(it broke down, & it could be more costly to fix than what I paid for the newer one). As long as you're careful & check into EVERYONE whoose auction you're interested in, then you could easily find a great deal. Just make sure to do your homework before you place a bid..... :)

I bought an esc off of ebay and got screwed and the guy selling it had a ton of positive feedback so i thought he was honest. Well to make a long story short i got a burnt up esc and he got my cash. It was my first and last ebay purchase.

I brought all my stuff over eBay. I got a XXXT with cyclone for $160 and a Almost new M8 for $170. I have done over 300 deals of buying and selling over eBay and have never had a deal go bad. Take Grizzbob advice and you should be ok. I am sorry to hear about your bad deal Billy.

I have gotten alot of stuff off of ebay and not had any problems. I did however get burnt once on this board. just make sure you get all of the persons information and get their phone number. Chances are good that an honest person has no problem with you calling them with a question.

Nice auction pickup jeepinator! Looks a lot nicer than the 2 JR-X2s I got off of eBay, but I also paid less, and got a radio. So far, all my eBay stuff has been good, but you must check the feedback and ask questions. Normally, "It worked when I ran it last" means nothing in the long run. That's what the guy said when I got my two JR-X2s, a Futaba radio, and speed control. The speed control worked yeah, but no brakes anymore, the radio worked yeah, but only out to 5 feet. But I still got two cars for $35. Shop well, and don't let other bidders make you bid more when you are approaching the for new price of an item.

You've got to be careful with eBay. I've purchased a few cars off eBay and I've never had any trouble with the transaction, itself, but the car it not always in good shape. When I buy a car off eBay, I usually plan on putting at least $100 into it to get it race-ready. Here's an example for you:

I bought a used Serpent Impact on eBay for $225. The car's engine was actually pretty good, and the pipe was dented, but still all right. The shock shaft was broken, the diffs and shocks needed re-builds, and it was missing a battery bracket (?). I'm also installing a new fuel tank just to be safe. If you add in the cost of all the parts needed, they come out to about $50. $275 for a race ready Impact? Not bad at all.

There are certainly good deals to be had on eBay, but do be careful and know what you're bidding on.

Actually, wild, thats buying used period, whatever the source over the internet, even on these forums. I've traded maybe for 8 to 10 cars on the net. Only twice did I get a car that the seller had bothered to clean and only twice did I get a car in the condition the seller said it was in. But, I saved a lot of money and ultimately on all but one (this guy just out right sent me a turd of a car) of them, I got good deals.

I bought 90% of my cars and equipment used from Ebay! I only got screwed when I first started into the hobby and Traxxas was practically the only name I knew. So I paid big bucks to get a bandit, a Sledgehammer and two Rustlers. The Rustlers were great, the other two...don't wanna talk about them :) Eventually sold everything and picked up some B2's, XXCR's, XXT's, XR3's, XR2's, 8 ESC's etc etc. Lots of good stuff for under half the cost. Only things I've ever bought new were my XXXT, my Apex's, my current XR3 and parts from my LHS. If I have even the slightest doubt, I'll ask questions.
