I did see a post from Steve P about a different kind of hobby car race happening in Long GIsland... within and hour of NYC.
It was not RC, however... some kind of cool tether system...

Looking for a nitro on road race, in the NYC area.

Mark - there is a Nercar (sp?) series that runs every other weekend, alternating between CT and NJ. There are a number of NY racers that attend. They run 1/8 on-road, 1/10 on-road, .12 touring and occasionally 1/5.

You can race at American Raceway in Englishtown NJ. They race Elctric and Nitro on road their every saturday starting at 6:30.American Raceway (http://www.americanraceway.com)visit their site for more info. Its about an hour ride from where i am(Staten Island) and their a hobby shop on site.
