buggys r harder to jump, they tend to flip over alot but if ur good u could master it ....i my self perfer trucks

I've noticed the opposite. The buggies jump farther and tend to land on all 4. The trucks all seem to nose dive(I've only seen 1 truck that jumps as well as a buggy, but still not as far). The buggies DO flip over a lot though http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif Buggies have a smaller turning radius, but trucks can "power" through turns better. These aren't facts, just what I've seen.

ok, for starters, DONT buy the duratrax vehicles. they r nothing but trouble. weak parts plague it. Also, if u MUST get the Maximum series, buy the ST PRO. Next, go with a truck. they seem much easier to drive for newbies and r usually tougher (more ground clearance). o yea, take a long look at the AE RC10GT RTR. Its about the same price as the Maximum and its SOOO much better

Jwelch...you say dont get the Max truck or buggie get the AE GT...Well did you ever think that maybe he doesnt want a Stadium truck..Or a GT---- THOR... I say get what you want...I have seen lots of duratrax cars run and they are fine for someone like you, who is just getting in to nitro..As far as truck or buggy goes,, I say get the truck,,they are bigger and a bit more stable.....and GUTTER- you say you always see trucks nose dive,,its all about throttle control...good throttler control can make any truck or buggy land on all 4 wheels every jump..while bad control will make any truck or buggy nose dive or land on the rear...... my 2 cents

Krayzie, I'm sure most of it is throttle control. But I can take my B2 full throttle off the ramps and my buggy will jump farther and land on all 4's more often than any of the trucks there. We have a sponsored driver there and even his truck slightly nose dives. I guess in the heat of competition, you just throttle away! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif I'll be trying out my spec truck next week, maybe I'll nose dive too http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Setup can also affect the handling of jumps. If you have different shock lengths up front or in back, you'll get a nice, half-barrel roll effect that will send you into the pipes perfectly. Throttle control and car setup are usually key to handling the bumps and jumps. Anybody can nose dive if they don't take the jump right. Just my .02

Trucks are good for bumps and jumps.

I think you all are missing the point. Thor is just a beginner. I think for him the best advice would be which one does he like better? Perfomance on jumps is all in the setup/driving he will learn this with which ever syle he chooses.

Thor, I prefer Kyosho but they tend to be on the expensive side. The other people I race with also run Kyosho...another reason why I chose them. A friend of mine has a Duratrax and really likes it. His whole setup cost less then my car. For a beginer car, the Daratrax should work fine for you.

Good luck and have fun!

yep tiggs, the kyosho line is good stuff. i have an ultima st ep at works great only, make sure that u have a supply of extra front body mounts and rear hubs. they tend to break fairly easily. also, make sure to have ur own set of hex wrenches, because the included ones r a bit small for the diff gear screw.

My only 2 cents is that since the front shocktower on the buggies are exposed, it makes them (the shocks and the tower) more susceptable to breakage when you land the shiny side down. Other than that I don't think one has a real advantage over the other. They're all fun!
