ok, im takin my car out for a run, it accelerates nicely, time to turn to avoid rather large concrete wall. WHAM. steering gone. i took off the shell. whaadya know, the steering servo isnt even MOVING. so i take it inside, take out the servo and open it up. all is fine. GRRRRRR!so i decided to test it with the top off the servo, it just spun in one direction and did not respond to the radio. what the f. also when i turn it on, it will center, but not respond to the radio. does anybody know whats going on or how to fix it??
thanks

If I were you, I'd check the connection between the servo and receiver.

yes i tried switching the wires etc, it doesn work im convinced that something is screwed up with the actual servo. can anybody tell me what happpens when you run the servo without the top on, cause it jus spins one way and doesnt do anything when i trie to turn.

Check the connections and pay attention to the white wire. That is the signal wire that tells the servo which direction to spin. If it's severed, it will not respond to the radio commands.

hey, i had that happen to me once with an airtronics 94102 servo, i was friving and suddenly it only turn left-- and stayed that way!!
even when i took it out and inspected it, it still wanted to only turn left even with adjusting trim, etc. i think it just means the servo motor is dead, but i could be wrong

When you take the gears off the motor is supposed to turn one way always, beacuse when the gears turn the output gear turns the shaft which senses how far the servo has traveld and since the output gear isnt turning now it wont move. I suggest getting a new servo, the same servo you have is only 12 dollars at tower hobbies.

hmm maybe this is a trend? I was having problems with my throtle servo. The thing would not accept any commands and just twitched any shuddered. **** good thing I was at idle! Well I took it apart and put it back together and it works but it is not as fast or smooth.

when ever I have a problem occure i just upgrade eventually the car will be bullet proof.

so just get a 30$ High Tourqe servo, usully they are 2x faster then stock servos and they are cheeper then the High speed ones.

buying $30 servos every 2 months can add up. I run hitec 945's in all my cars(GT,T3,INFERNO,RUSTLER) never had one break yet, great servos. Expensive but you only gotta buy it once, and they have 2 year warranty

Does your T3 turn like crap? Mine does but I don't know if it is the stock futaba 3003 servos or the Masher 2k's.

The Futaba S3003 is all i used to run in my cars when i first started out. I have 2 thats last for like 3 years now.

The S3003 are awesome servos and are very good if you have limited cash flow. I try and stay away from Airtronics servos cuz of the bad luck iv had with em. All i use is Hitec and Futaba servos and never had a problem with em yet.

i have had the same type of problems with hitec standard servos/ i went through i think 3 or 4 of them in a year, luckily hitec replaced them for free so it did not cost anything. i just got a tower standard and it seems to be working jsut fine. good luck http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

GTburner, Don't screw around with a $12 throttle servo. It's a time bomb!! Replace with a new one. It doesn't have to be high end servo for throttle. I used 148's (don't use 3003's though) with good dependability for a long time, as have many other guys I've known. Use the rubber servo grommets to prevent premature servo failure in a gasser (a must!). Or not,& pay big bucks on a runawy!

Your steering servo is more vulnerable anyway...don't forget to upgrade it, or eventually you'll be forced to when you least expect it.
