a local track has just opened up an indoor track and one of the classes they will be running is the t-spec class. ive run mostly micro and mini classes over the past 2 years and briefly raced an elcetric off road stadium truck (but the truck got too expensive to try and keep up). i was wondering how good this class is and how cheap it actually remains. i cant afford to be spending lots of money on top notch batteries and other parts all the time. i know the initial investment for the class is pretty cheap but if there is anyone out there who acyually races in this class, any info would be appreciated. thanks

Well, it should definintely not cost a lot to keep up. Seeing as how everyone must use the same batteries, motor, car, and tires (at least that's the idea behind a spec class). Plus there's literally no upgrades (yet) for the t-spec, so no money goes to hopups. All in all, it should be a good, fair class to race and relatively cheap. I did hear that people go through tires fast though, so that may be where your moolah goes...:D

The t-spec is a pretty cheap class, and can be fun to drive if there are enough in your class. Also, they are pretty tough(I have never seen one break). Lasly, the people who race in this class are probably also a beginner, so it will be easier to race with them.

well, the T-spec is tunable so if you want to race in another class, you can.

well all sounds good and i think im going to get into the class, but one more thing. does everyone think trinity is going to keep up the support on this program and keep it going or not. i mean i dont want to invest the money then in a year not be able to get parts etc. i mean i know i could always put better motor and batteries in it and race in a normal class but i dont have the money for that.

I would love to race in this class. My local track doesn't has a T spec class. I not into onroad stuff because I don't have anywhere to drive them but it sounds like it would be a fun class.

Anyways didn't trinity have a spec class going a few years ago? I haven't been in rc too long so I am only going by what I have been told.

My local track has a T-Spec class and they support the car with parts. They have sold out of them as well. The biggest thing is just having enough people to race them and if the local track does this class should do well. I bought one as my first touring car and it seems pretty good and takes a bashing from my inexperienced driving! Most of the racers that had them usually had their primary car for another class and the T-Spec was just a secondary class for them. But overall the cost is low as all the other posts indicated. The stock spec motor is not that great and would benefit greatly from a comm cut to ensure it is round and definitely swap out the stock spur for the included one in the kit that will allow you to use your standard pinions. Our races are 5 mins and I put a 28T pinion instead of the stock 23T. Trinity really needs to get behind this class though otherwise it will go the way of the DoDo like their other spec class they had!

yea ive heard how trinity had a spec class a couple years ago and i heard how it ended up being a flop. thats why im cautious to get in the class. but overall the car looks good and support for now seems fine so who knows what ill do. anyone else out there have one and have any input on the car and/or class.

Our track did a spec class that used similar things that the T-spec is . Limited the speed control, motor, battery, etc. batts had to be under 1800mah stick packs, motor had to be the 21 turn street spec motor ( we could use any brush and spring however ) , and speedos had to be at most equivalent in specs to say a fusion.

That motor though really needs that initial comm cut though, some tribo drops may help as well to bump up the RPM.
