Man this is great!! Maybe it is just the new member red thingy but it seems like there are a ton of new members. It seems R/C is becoming much more popular. I myself have gotten 5 people into R/C. Its not that many people but its a start. How many people have you guys gotten into the great hobby of R/C?? It seems like we get atleast 5 new members a day!

Yeah, it seems that way, except, the only part I hate, is that all the people I have influenced, don't have access to a computer, DOH!! Oh well, maybe they can buy hop-ups instead of a Computer.

This sounds pretty stupid, but I didn't even realize Car Action had a forum until last weekend. Someone mentioned it at the track, and I was shocked. Here I was wasting all my time on some of the other, lesser forums.
What's worse is that I've been reading Car Action since the very first issue, and have yet to see anything reagarding the RC ZONE. I generally don't pay any attention to anything that looks like an ad.
As far as bringing new people in to the hobby, I've exposed lots of people to it that may not have known how cool it is, but very few have taken the plunge. The cost is pretty hard to swing if you've got other hobbies and priorities.
I've had an addiction to the hobby for over 20 years, and I'll never understand how a red-blooded American male couldn't like r/c, or even full-size cars for that matter.

Same here. I didn't find this forum until a couple days ago. I read Car Action as well. Somebody mentioned this site on the T-Maxx forum. There's a forum like this for RC airplanes as well www.maxxtraxx.com (http://www.maxxtraxx.com) - T-Maxx site www.rconliine.com (http://www.rconliine.com) - RC Airplane site, but some car stuff too

I think what I am finding to be a little more intresting are the names, some of you guys come up with. Is your driving as intimidating as your name???? :D

You must mean centralparkkiller's name? Yeah, I'd think twice about hacking someone with a name like that.
I'm known as Stupidfast at the HPI forum, so I wanted something for this forum that wouldn't have people calling me "Stupid" for short if they met me at the track.
Serius Black, for those of you that don't know, is a character in the Harry Potter books. My wife bought first edition copies of all four books, more for the collectability than anything else. I started reading the first one, and couldn't stop. Probably the most enjoyable books I've ever read (And I've read tons of books).
I'm only explaining so none of you get the impression that I'm some sort of satanic freak.

Jeep - I actually live in Clackamas, my office is downtown Portland.
I'm not new to the hobby, I've been in to R/C for over 20 years. I race up at A-Main every week, and used to race out a Aero quite a but. I also used to hang out with the Kit Car crowd when they still ran at Eastport.

Part of my rituals, is to check out the "Newest Member" and see what the count is up to, it was 5388 when i checked, I believe. It seems we are getting about 50+ members a day. Pretty cool stuff!
