I've tried to post some pics of my boat. When I click "download", it tells me that my pics are too big! They're only 90/100kb! And it says that the max is, like 76kb or somthin like that. What to do?? Brian

Are you scanning the pics or usung a digital camera? If your using a digital then put it on the lowest quality(it will be fine for just showing). If you are using a scanner do the samething. Good luck

I have to go into the crappy old paint program that windows comes with to shrink them. When you are viewing a picture the button is in the lower right that says edit when you hover over it.

Thanks guys. I'll set my digital on "crappy mode", and I'll look into that windows whatchyamacallitt picture thing. (I hate it too! It wants to take over yer computer!)

If you happen to have Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop, they should let you resize the picture more easily.

I love my PIP 7.0!! That is the best for me. Right click on a picture in its album, "Open With" PIP7.0, "Format," "Resize Image," on the second tab drop down to "photo (5 X 7)," then "Done," then save it! That is all!!

If you don't know how to resize it, then send it to someone & let them do it.

Thats a good question. This is my first "GAS" boat. I got everything for it off the internet, cause there ain't a hobbyshop out here in Denver that believes in boats! I've been having problems getting the rpm's up, which leads back to the prop. But I've made a freind in Oaklahoma who's got the exact same setup as mine. (cept it's red) And he has sent me an Octura X670-"D" mod prop to try out. I've been tweekin an tunin for 1 gallon "O" gas so far. And that has only been on Saturday mornings. I've switched the carb from a 488, to a 257, and will see what happens this weekend. I've also found that this is the "ONLY" gas boat out here! (so far) So I've been at the mercy of the internet finding help with the many problems ya run into setting up a rig like this!

i know your pain. if i want to find other boaters i need to drive about 2 hrs to atlanta. i'm a total boat nut...but that's just too far. so i sit on the forums and absorb everything i can. hell, it's a 40 min drive just to get to the lake!!! it always sucks being the only boater in the area. at least i got a good LHS.

I'm fortunate there. My lake is a 10min drive north. I get there around 8:00am, and it's like glass! (makes me smile every time!) But any other boaters that show up have them "wee little" nitro thingies. So I only stay there for a few hours atta time.

Calm down DD, just havin' a little fun. Besides, you did a fantastic job with my pics :)

BoatDoc
10-01-2004, 06:42 AM
i represent that remark! i happen to have a few of those "wee" motors. mostly because the budget doesn't allow for big gassers. also because i wouldn't be able to fit 5 boats in my place if they were gas rigs! one day...oh yeah...one day i'll have my gas rig.

Okay enough babling about being a smarty britches... LOL :D

Back to the boat:
You're running hight altitudes right? Maybe you need to play with carb & props. I've never ran from one extreme to the other... mountains to the beahces but have heard nightmares from folks who have. Either way, it looks fast.

Don't let them chase you out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just make some serious wakes and go do a little hopping. I'm sure they won't challenge you on the water :)

DON'T get me wrong! I'm not "blastin" nitro boats! I started with nitro's. They're alot of fun. And some of em are damn fast! But I have "evolved" into bigger things, as you will too. Brian

btw...forgot to ask, can we get some specs for that thing?? motor, hardware etc, i'm sure you know the drill. everyone always wants to know what everyone else is running.

Hydro Junkie

I have evolved, right to 1/8th scale nitro and 1/6th scale gas hydros. Best of all things, SPEED, POWER AND SIZE. Now that's what I call BOATING. And when I want to downsize, a Sport 40 scale hydro lets me keep the speed up too :)

Ok, here ya go! It's an F-41 Stryker. The engine is a BonsiSport BZX-4, full/mod G260. I'm now running a walbro 257 carb thru to a B.H.Hanson 100* header, into his alum. chamber. I'm running direct collet drive, thru a "butch block", into a SpeedMaster VM-5 strut w/skeg. The proper prop is yet to be determined. The rudder is a SpeedMaster 65/90 dual P/U , with a modified blade from "Doc John" at Speedworld. The radio and reciever, are Airtronics. The servo's are Hitec's. A standard for the throttle, and a 1/4 scale for the rudder. I'm using an MX-9500 failsafe, to shut the throttle off. (just in case) I'ts all running on a 1400ma, 4 cell batt pac. The end! :)

Very nice and thorough description.. :D I always like a good book. Do you have an idea of about what kind of speed you running and any chance of some action shots? (Sorry Double had to ask before you did. :p )
Good looking boat. I like the Stryker Cats, how does it handle?

BMAD01

Right now I'm pushin 50mph w/gps. And that's only at 14,000 rpm! I'm about 2000 to 2500 rpm short of what this engine should be running. Since I've switched out the carb's, I should see a greater increase in performance. I'll find out this Sunday. It handles like it's on rails! It "WILL" do an imediate "bat turn" at full speed, w/o flipping! Alot of fun! How come nobody signs their posts?? Brian

I THINK YOU SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 16500-17000 RPM. HAVE A FRIEND W/SAME AND THATS WHAT HIS TAC READS. RUNS 57-60MPH.............FYI :) KEEP LOOKING FOR THAT "RIGHT" PROP, SHOULD DO THE TRICK!

Really nice looking boat.

Nice boat :D
Looks awesome :D
BTW-you're in denver? I thought I was the only boater in 100 miles. Really, there is NO ONE in this state who boats. I know of 5 hobby shops in the area, one over 10000 sq. feet, and not one has a big selection of boats. About the limit is a couple of props, a miss bud, and a few rtr electrics. Where do you run your boat? I run mine at boulder res and harper lake. Nice knowing i'm not alone in this state (at least on this side of the rockies)

Oh-and I thought I was the only gas boater out here too, until this thread came along.

Hi Chris, I've been going to "Engineer Lake" in Thornton, just north of Denver. Ifin I'm not working on Saturday mornings, thats where you can find me. Ceptin tomorrow, I gotta work! So I'll be there on Sunday morn, bout 8:30. I'ts right next to RT76 + 74th street in the boonies of Thornton. Maybe we can hook up sometime. As you can see from the pic, I'm the only one there! (mostly) Brian :)

You haven't been reading all the posts then have you? A few of us here will do that once in a while. Depends on if my shirt is on the right way that day as to if mine get signed or not.... dd.

I have to REALLY have a reason to sign my posts. But, I'll do it here anyways. (I'll have to edit some pictures and post them here, too. It's a bit of a job even with Picture It 2000, the digital camera produces photos more suited to the side of a bus than they are to a website. :D )

Aint it the truth. The way I see it, if it either isn't scale or does at least 50, why bother :D

Really? If it doesn't go fast, then i gotta have a REALLY good reason to see it. (i have yet to post on the scale or sailboat or submarine forums) However, i would go to the rocket thread if there was one here. After all, some can go 2600' in 10 seconds at 340mph. Also, i don't sign my posts just because everyone knows my name anyway.
