Im thinking of an all terrain race. I saw one on tv once, there were a bunch of teams that made go-cart sized cars that could handle everything, (water, marsh, etc.)would be possible to do this with 1/8 cars? One thing was that the cars "transformed" (wheels folded in) and there was a rudder plus engine. Could you just use paddle tires or something to go on water?...

just an idea im really not sure if it could work...

I race motocross and we have tires for our bikes that allow us to run in sand. ie dunes. They have paddles on them, but thats for full size motocross bikes. I suppose if you found a company that made the same type of deal for r/c it would at least "move you" to an extent through some stuff but very slowly. everything would have to be water tight, and the bottom of the chassis would have to have a hull and short keel most likely to keep it stable. steering in water may only happen with a rudder, but it would be interesting to see if you could use a four wheel drive vehicle and turn slowly. tip though, when we get off the dune or desert, that wheel comes off immediately because normal turff and the street will shread it to pieces and will be unstable with two wheels. my two cents. later

Panther and Pro-line make tire like that. I would be worried about how to keep the electrics safe and sound from the water. Not to mention the intake for the engine if you use nitro. Just my .02 cents

h ammoace i can see how that might be a problem with nitro but remmember the whole "running motors under water"???it might work with electric (if i remember that post correctly). as for the electronics, maybe five baloons??? http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif or could you put something around it that was water tight?

the running motors underwater was for almost pure water. you could put one or two balloons on your electronics and they would probably be safe, but how would you get the antennae and battery wires out without leaving holes for the water to seep through? As for Nitro you can make a snorkel kit like they do for some offroad vehicles. I have seen some for troopers and Land Rover Defenders. Just a long tube the sticks up and takes air from above the vehicle down to the airbox. That I'm sure could be made from some sort of piping. maybe PVC??? It would be cool as **** if you could get one to do it all, and I would certainly build one myself.
