ive got an hpi pro and its solid. It takes a lot of hits and keeps going. Its got a few hop-ups though..

anyway...buggy wheels are much taller than sedan wheels. Im not sure the belts will hold up that long also..but it sounds like a cool project.

the pro 2 chassis will snap. It can't handle the stress.

^ its true with the pro chassis....it was so weak without the top deck..but its solid for street.

Id go for the mrc/ academy buggy..

More specifically, the pro 2 chassis will snap near the saddle pack mounting slots.

either get a pro 1 chassis, or get another chassis from the sport 2 and bolt the pro 2 and sport 2 chassis together.

the pro 1 chassis will snap right behind the battery slots and in front of the motor cooling hole. thats i good idea...put two chassis together lol. :D

I'm making a new chassis out of 1/4" thick plexi

Im not sure what thickness yet but i know if I make it 1/4 I'll never snap it but the weight might make it to heavy.

1/4" sounds to thick....plus, it sounds like it wouldnt look the best. Id just cut it thinner than 1/4, but some how make it stronger in the weakest spots.

lexan looks awesome. Plus, you still can paint it.

I made it out of 1/4inch red.

Theirs no cut outs except for the screws and the shape of the other chassis.

It's pretty lite I made this car for bashing and jumping.

+ when your car is about 10ft away from your gutters and your on the large gravel rock driveway and you hear the tings of the rocks hitting the gutter your face just goes =)

I love her I'll post pics when I find one of my friends digital cameras or get a disposable camera.

P.S. Whats a good buggy body I need the wing included.

Like I said just use two, it been done before and it works. Hell, i'd just bolt everything up to the mt chassis, get the longer front belt and be done with it. But lexan can look pretty cool too.

sounds cool, i wanna see some pics :D Try the new mrc/academy body and maybe the losi body. you could even try a 200mm rally body on it if you couldnt find a body.

:( My friend forgot his digital camera :( so i have to wait till monday to take pics sorry :(

I killed the motor today but it was on its way to die the mag fell out.

So whats some good off road stock motors because I want my batt's to last longer then 20min with a 19t.

Ok I'm deffinitly not the best or a pro car tester but I'll tell you what I'v noticed the buggy is only rear drive for now because I'm in accidemics for the next 6days :( haha but once I'm back in shop I'll make her 4wd. Well about the car I'v noticed it's very very responsive, I mean you touch the steering knob and the car basicaly jumps into a turn :D. But at the same time if you are driving on a rouf surface like a rocky track or gravel it's extreamly difficult to mantain top speed and keep the car tracking strait. But I made this car to jump and to just bash around on so I like the challange and it's a very sweet ride.

The p2k2 pro is a great off-road motor. Lots of torque and pretty good top speed

I have to special order spur and pinion gears for the pro2 anyone know what fits on it without any drilling rite now im going to use a rustler spur and pinion and just match the holes from one to the other.

I got the green machine pro 3 because its 1of 3 motors and epics dont make good off road motors (not sure).

they make awsome motors, off road or on. who told you that? 80% of the motors i see are epics. you should have gotten a p2k2 since its 4wd buggy, not a GM3.its much tourqier and should have about the same top end

........they had a p2k2 :( .... owell this wont be my last motor. I mean im only 15 so theirs a lot of time to experement with this.

I broke my first part thats fixable and one thats not.

Well i made the mistake of using either plexi glass or lexon and in colder weather becasue it was 45 all day today and I hit a jump at almost top speed (still overgeared) and the gap was about 11ft and onto a 10ft hill a pretty steep grass hill.... well I hit it dead on and went up about 6ft then around the time from the car and the bottom of the hill when it was directly over it the car was about 10 ft off the ground gaining speed in the decent....... landed perfictaly.......then bounced for 3ft.......then landed rite on the rear shock tower and snaping it in 2 the body flyes off becasue of the front body clips going threw the body and roled and tumbled for about 30ft. comes to a stop and all I said was "sh**" ran to it found out it was an eazy fix.

Got it home noticed the front wheels, a arms ect weren't strait so I looked at the front of the chassis and about 1/2 inch rite whare the bolts were it snaped clean off.

So now im looking for a block of plastic 3/8in thick I'll mill it down to .250 or 1/4in see how heavey judge the thickness from that and then redrill holes and see how it works made a bumper!!!!

Do the same with the shock towers.
