I'm putting together my first car (RS4 Rally) and I'm looking for a motor.

My question is.....if I buy a realy fast motor is my run time going to be significantly shorter compared to a stock motor? If it is how much shorter is the runtime?

Thanks

yes, it depends on the battery and the motor.

GET LIKE A 10 OR 12 TURN MOTOR AND GET A 7 CELL 3000 BATTERY.

I suggest a 14 or 15 turn modified. For the hand wound type mods, i strongly suggest the Aurora mods, by peak, they run fast. remember that you will need to rebuild modifieds more often.

As for stocks, go for a P2K, or Chrome RS
And Batteries, i reach for 2400's in all my RC needs, they have great punch, and loooong run times, i run reedy World Class Zappers if that makes any difference.

You also have to take into consideration how you gear it as well.

The fastest motor doesn't mean the fastest racer. Depending on your experience level, perhaps you should start with a good stock motor then move your way into a hot modified. If you wish to start with a modified, look at a 15 or 16 turn double running on 6 cells to start. After running that combo for awhile then you can move up to a hotter motor and 7 cells.
Good Luck and Good Racing,
