I want to get my little brother his first RC for his birthday. I have it narrowed down to the electric rustler or stampede. I am just wondering which one is a better first car stock. Is one more durable then the other? Speedwise?? I have no experience with either, I have had nitro cars from the start. Any help would be great!!

I would go with the T4 RTR it is a much betters car and you will not hate it like the other two.

Stampede and rusty are both very durable cars. I think either would be a fine choice and your brother would love it :)

Make sure to get the wide front bumper that RPM makes.

I had to make the same decision last week. I want something to basically bash in the yard and street with, so I went with the Stampede. Only thing I might suggest is to get the one with the esc and not the msc.

no save your money and get a msc and get him a good esc not the crap one they put in there. i have both i think their pretty much the same i drive the rusty more just make sure he get's a rpm wide bumper and rpm carriers /w berings and aluminium idler and it will be very strong

Thanks for all the replies guys, till this point he has only had radio shack cars, so he won't need the top of the line esc yet, we could always upgrade it later. Going that route... I take it I should spend the extra on the esc and skip the msc right?

The traxxas esc is okay, but if i were you id buy one with the msc and put a good esc in it.

I have both. I recommend the Stampede with the ESC. It can be upgraded to a 17T motor with that ESC and that will be plenty fast enough for your little bro. In my opinion, the Stampede is more rugged, and capable of going on more different terrain than the Rustler.
