im gunna order some SMC matched GP3300's from tower and this will be my first attempt at assembling a pack. Is there a certain way to solder the batteries together? And do i just take a soldering iron and solder the battery connectors to the batteries and how would i solder the deans connectors to the batteries so i could connect the batteries to my ESC? and since im making a saddle pack, what ends do i put ESC connectors on and do i need shrink wrap and why? Sry for the noob question and thanks.

yes, there is a certain way to solder them. current travels from negative to positive, there for don't solder positive to positive, or negative to negtive (duh).

the only exception to this rule is when your putting your batteries in parrellel.

someone correct me if im wrong..if you still need help try asking Tyme at http://www.basherplanet.com

he is a 4 year graduate in professional electronics or something, but he studdied stuff like this for 4 years i think and he helped me do mine!

Prep the positive and negative ends of battery before attempting to solder, use a piece of sandpaper, or Dremel w/sanding drum attachmant and lightly scuff each end. A good soldering job will be accomplished if the iron gets hot and the tip (generally 1/4 spade or pencil tips are best) holds heat. Most do shrink their cells to prevent chassis from cutting through the outter layer of shrink, some glue the cells together with CA, Shoe Goo, or some type of adhesive. Next is to determine the connection points of your esc, motor so that you can keep wiring as short as possible and know which ends your connector wire will be soldered. For offroad and touring car the connections for esc, motor are better to the left side so the positive esc connection is made with positive end located to rear, negative towards front on left side of chassis. So you have 3 bars on right side, 2 on left. I use the hardwire setup so a battery bar is bent, then soldered to the left side positive and negative end of battery (your wire w/deans plug would be soldered here).
