I'm just wondering, what kind of dirt do most of you race your offroad buggies/trucks on? My track is indoors and is made of hard-packed dirt that gets watered down often to keep it down and grippy. You could call it a blue-groove track, but they rebuild it once a month anyway. So, how many of you race this type and how many of you race on loose dirt?
I definitely prefer my kind of track because traction is always available (unless you're high-centered on a pipe) and my truck stays relatively clean. It's interesting that my perfect set of tires for racing can be so different than your perfect set. I guess I'm wondering what tires work for your tracks, too. The best setup on mine is usually a set of Hole-shots and blades up front. I'm just curious, what do y'all use?

When I race at my local track they also water it down for more traction. This is what i perfer.
When I get out to the track on par. days it kicks azz. Because to track is untouched and you can do some tight tricks.
Anyway I use the Pro-Line Step Pins out back and the Pro-Line Blades up front.

Steps and Blades?
Are you sure? Those are two radicaly different tires.
I use Pro-Line Bow Tie, or Bow Tie T's, although I like the "T's" better because I dont spin out as much. I use Pro-Line Edge in front, both in M2 coumpound. This set-up really works for my GT. Traction is always good (better when watered), but not so much that I traction roll, or wheelie a lot.

I run on Blue Clay. You could consider it a hard damp surface. It allows good traction( if u have a good setup). The only disadvantage is that u have to wash your tires almost every run to maintain good traction.

The track I race on is a light tan when dry and very dark brown when wet. Traction bites when it is wet(not the stick-to-the-track type of bite). Traction is awesome when dry. We use Blades/edges/directionals,M3,M3,silver and M3 supersquares

Me and nairb both race on the same track, depending on the day, it is either hoelshots or square fuzzies, and radius ribs, all in M3 compound on my buggy, hey Nairb, next time we head out, it is a diff layout, they messed it this sunday

Yes Pro-Line Blades and Step Pins. This is what i use, others may not but its a good set up for my truck. I also run on Losi silver Tapers and Ribs. It works for me!

Steve, have you seen the track? I hope it is as good a layout as the last one. I really liked that one. I'm still hoping I can race Saturday...
