Mini-T racer

I went to Lowes recently and i was going to make a discarger for my Mini-T. The lowest voltage light bulb was 4 watts, 1 problem, I need it to go to about 0.02 or a little higher. I then put in a bulb from a flash light which was 2.2 watt bulb. And then i hooked it up and it blew up. Any help finding the right (bulb) (bulbs) to make the discarger would be a big help! Thanks

How many amps do you want to discharge?

Most use the 1157 dual element, or 1156 single element auto taillight bulbs rate at 2amps. The other is to use a discharge resistor (Radio Shack) 1wt 10ohm but should use a DVM to monitor the pack voltage. Should be able to take it down to .90 volts per cell safely (.90 x number of cells). The ideal method is discharge at higher loads 10 to 30amp (10 should work best with AA cells or smaller) then use a lower load .50 to 2amps and bring each cell down to .25 volts or 1.50 for a 6cell pack.

Here is an adjustable one, with removeable bulbs (up to about 25 amps)
