I've done this a few times...and was wondering what armatures you guys have put in what motor cans, and what your results were. So far i've put a 13x3 speed gems armature in a P-94 can and god was that fun! :D Next I'll try sticking an old stinger 20 turn armature in the speed gem can, see if i can get some nice torque outta it. So what have ya'll done? Any one find the "perfect combination" yet? (yes...i did this all out of sheer boredom.. :p )

lol I want to use an old 1987 trinity monstor horespower the world champ armature but i cant figure out how to get it out of the can their are no lid screws and it seems to be only 2 bent metal tabs but all the screwdrivers i use to bend them (its a pretty small opening) the screwdriver just bends

i use to open those kind of cans all the time, heres what you do hold the motor in your hand, make sure your hsnds not on the endbell, then find a hard surface like a piece of wood , then just slam the shaft down, but not to hard it doesn't take much force

That works very well. If you're careful when you rebend the tabs in when you put it back together,(if you're gonna use the same can) nobody can tell if it's been opened or not. Back in the 80's when I used to race we had a heck of a time with a few people putting mod armatures in stock cans and running stock class.

The armature hitting the solid object basically forces the endbell off... Sometimes it breaks the tabs though...so you gotta get "creative" in putting it back on...(CA GLUE!!! WOO!):D
