My friend wants to get an onroad car. As a friend with experience in rc, I wanted to help him. So far I told him to get,
Tamiya TT01, Futaba am radio, duratrax esc, tamiya ball bearings, duratrax peak charger, and some epic batteries.
Any other suggestions on the car or anything else to order would be greatly appreciated. Remember.... tight budget!
Thanks, :)

The cheapest and toughest on road car hands down is the BoLink Legends. Its also really fast, though no suspention.

I've been looking for a few legends cars - but haven't had any luck at all. Any suggestions on where to purchase these fine pieces of RC history?

I would stay away from tamiya ball bearings. Those are way over priced.

RTRs are great for getting into the hobby. Bolinks are super cheap but FAST, even with something like a stock motor. You can tell him to look at a traxxas 4tec for cheap. Look on ebay for onroad stuff and I'm sure you can find a killer deal on there.
