rasp, the side missle is actually a "pod" of some type. it could be an extra fuel tank or a sensor pod but it is not a "missle" but it is painted in the same scheme as the jet. and it is cool like that.

Nope, that's a real picture. I have (or had at least) the video which that picture is captured from.

that side tank is a fuel tank..used for extra long missions, or whatnot. You can remove it, and instead store a "pod" of missles, rockets, or bombs. When using those tanks, and ya get into the "heat" of things up there..those tanks are jetisoned..I guess someone down below might have a good, cool lookin fuel tank, chillin in their backyard...

BTW, the original role of the Tornado (which belongs to a tri-nation; W. Germany, Italy, and UK) was intended for are: close air support/battlefield interdiction, long-range interdiction/strike, naval strike, air superiority, air defense/interception, reconnaissance, and training... basically a MRCA (Multi-Role Combat Aircraft) ;)
