RRP Spur gear just got chewed up!

Guys..i outfitted my T3FT with a RObinson Racing Products Absolute Series Spur gear(87t) and it got chewed up within a few minutes of running it. I use a stock motor so this is super weird. Does anyone have the phone number to RRP? They better replace my gear...these things aren't cheap.

You obviously didn't set the gear mesh correctly. You probably got a spur with the same number of teeth as the stock one and you thought the mesh would still be fine, right? Bad idea. I noticed with my first Robinson Absolute spur that they are smaller than the stock spurs, even though they both have the same amount of teeth and are both supposedly 48 (or 64) pitch. No matter what you do, ALWAYS check the mesh to make sure it's ok, or you'll find yourself chewing spur gears up or overheating your motor.

I did set it afterwords. I noticed they were different size, and I set it...maybe they used a bad compound, I don't know. Can you get me their number? Last time I tried didn't get an answer...just kept ringing. Thanks for your help Nairb.
